You can put an ad in the news paper of the city where he was last, he might still be in that city and read the ad. If you're lucky you might find relatives and contact him through them.
If you had his SIN # even better can find just about anyone if you have that.
Otherwise contact a private detective, or there is book, you can get about finding people, sorry can't remember the name of it but Maury Povich had the author on his show a few times, I believe so did Montell.

Conatact your local social service agaency specifically the child support bureau, they will do the leg work.
