it happens to ALL of us no matter how hard you try to avoid it. I personally just slap myself everytime something pops out of my mouth that sounds like my mom. I call it behavior modification therapy :)

Oh hunny!I am so there!I also have three kids.I remember sayin "I'll never do that to my kids!"But guess what....yeah I've done it.I hope I've learned a little bit. There are some major things I do different.I try to be a little more trusting and the way i discipline is a lot different.I don't think my kids are worse than me though.I hope they learn from my mistakes and are better parents for it.

I don't have the same thing happening, but... If you're worrying about your kids or doing things like that, that your parents did, then it's normal. Sounds like you're growing up.
However, if you're talking about odd little quirks, I kind of know what you mean, like picking up little habits. I think that's normal as well, though. Only are real rebel like myself could get out of doing that! lol

Oh yes, I always catch myself saying things that my mother says... I think a lot of it is that when we have kids of our own and are driven to the same level of insanity that we took our parents to, the things our parents said to us finally make sense in a warp twisted way.
Next time your teenager looks at you like you have grown a second head when you tell them "I hope you have a child JUST LIKE YOU!" smile, know they will, and know that when they have a children sp,e day they will have a lighbulb moment and say "oh my gosh! I sound JUST LIKE MY MOTHER!! Maybe she knew more than I gave her credit for!"
Muahahaha, I can't wait, can you??

It's only natural to fall back on your personal experiences when dealing with your kids but you can be a better parent if you don't panic.

Scary, isn't it. I still remember saying "I will never do that to my kids..." but guess what... I am guilty. I think its a curse personally.

Because, regardless of how much we may have chafed under our parents' rules and regulations, we believe they did a pretty good job. After all, they raised us!
