I'm surprised they let y'all in!!! I think this is quite unsanitary and unsafe... what with people possibly dropping sharp or dirty things. He can also slip easier if he steps on wet stuff... Plus, it's not sanitary or respectful for other people if your son's feet (no matter how clean) are on the seats and such. I would suggest you explain that even though he's done it once it is not sanitary to practice this in certain places for obvious reasons... remember: No shirt, no shoes, no service? *What happens if your son is injured for not wearing shoes? Will you be held responsible for letting him go barefoot? What if the place requires shoes but somehow you manage to sneak in? You'll be getting a whole lotta people in trouble... Anyway, if he really wants to try something new, make movie outings special by letting him go in socks and slippers... he can then take off the slippers once he's seated and the socks will protect his feet. Good luck!!!

We all love to be barefoot! But it isn't always a good idea. Explain that it isn't your choice or his...it just isn't allowed because it isn't safe or clean.

If there are any left in your area perhaps you could take him to a drive-in and let him go barefoot (inside the car, of course). That could be fun and memorable for him. Or, if not, get him some sandals...closest thing to barefoot :-)

Yes! Of course, let your son go barefoot. Most people have the impression that something's wrong with it because it's not common in the US. What they fail to realize is that letting you child go barefoot is a clean, safe, healthy habbit that he can enjoy. Also contray to popular belief, it's NOT illegal. You don't have to take my word for it, go to your State Health Department's website and see for yourself! give him the freedom to be a kid, while he can be one. If he wants to go barefoot, let him. In fact, ues the heath-dept link below and find you state on the list. there should be a link to info from the state's health department

maybe you should ask why... there must be a reason behind this. oh and how did they let him into the movie theater? if it bothers you that much you shouldn't give him money to go the movies. He can wait until the movies come out in blockbuster and he can be barefoot in the comfort of his own home. :)

I think most ,if not all, businesses open to the public require a shirt (and bottoms) and shoes if you expect to enter. It may not be posted in all cases but it is expected. You could check with the theatre but I would make him wear his shoes. Heaven even knows what is on the sidewalk on the walk to where you are going. For example not everyone "poops and scoops"

Yecch I can only think of the sticky mess on the floor of most theaters ("cinemuck", in Sniglet speak), and walking barefoot on it would be disgusting.

NO! That is so unhealthy! Think of all of the mess, germs and junk that gets spilled on the floor, then think about your son with a cut on his foot and all those nasty germs getting into it. Major infection!
