Pregnancy & Parenting - 15 October 2007

My son is 5, my niece is 4. They fight, push, hit, tattle & it's an ongoing annoying struggle. I know my son sometimes starts fights & he does get in trouble by me. But I've had it with my sister. She yells at my son & blames him when they fight. He talks back, which I know is a problem, but sometimes he has to in order to defend himself. She's always picking on him. I've seen her daughter many times push or hit my son, then she'll run & say he hit me, when he did nothing. Today my sister & I got into it cuz she called my son a brat to his face. And cuz he told his cousin that he didn't want to come over & play anymore. When he said that, my sister blew up at him & said he was mean & was being disrespectful. Well, he's just a kid. If she would of ignored it, it would have ended, but she had to blow it all out of proportion. I'm sick of her bossy snottyness to my son & I. She needs to notice that her kid lies & is a problem too. Now it's an ongoing fight, what to do?

My husband and I found out that we are expecting twins which came to us as a big surprise! I'm 18 weeks along now and I'm getting a lot of round ligament pain, shortness of breath and I'm always tired and feeling useless. I'm also getting Braxton Hicks contractions already and there are times when I feel "pressure down there" and I feel if that I stand too long it gets worse. I know it's not labor (this is pregnancy #5) but I'm just wondering what to expect for the remainder of my pregnancy? I'm worried about having to go on bed rest. Can anyone offer me any advice or help as to what to expect? Thanks!

My husband doesnt want our 7mo. old to get hiis flu shots. He thinks it's dangerous and unnecessary. Can someone give me more info on the good and bad affects of this? Also, he doesn't go to a daycare he stays at home with my inlaws during the day. Ty... please no sarcasim... just want to learn.

Just wondering how many women have bled during the early stages of their pregnancy and went on to have a healthy baby?

I have started to bleed and I am 9 weeks pregnant. It isn't much, more so when I go to the toilet and wipe. It is old looking blood. It started Sunday, eased Monday and started again this morning.

I have been to the doctor and had an ultrasound and everything is still progressing well, strong heartbeat and still growing rapidly and the radiographer said everything looks thing.

I just want to hear of other womens experiences as this is our first and it is all very worrying?

He has over 8 diferent mental problems. He will be 15 next may and has been invited to japan for 29 days next july-aug.He will be living with his best freind and MMORPG clan members for this time and doing some tourism and go to studio ghibli for some animation.

For those of you who don't know what mmorpg is or online game clan look it up on wikipedia(it like a virtual world where ppl can interect with each other thru de net)
He knows his clan n freind very well so no probelm of being kidnapped.(he has webcam conversastion with them everyday)
Can you give good reasons as to why this child should or shouldn't travel all by himself? Becos that child is me!

im 31and a half weeks pregnant and i was sitting down and i coughed and this stuff came out of me and when i stood up i was till coming out, it wasnt like a big gush but it was there, when i went to the toilet it was clear-white and had no smell really and it wasnt pee, for the last few days i have had alot of presher down there and alot of back pain and not sleepig well. When their kids are caught doing something wrong instead of blaming their own lack of parenting skills. There was a 13 year-old in Seattle that was shot in the leg by a police officer because he was not listening and instead of showing his hands like asked he was reaching for something in his pocket. It happened to be a cell phone, but how was the cop supposed to know that. Why is a 13 and 14 year-old out at 3am anyway. Where were their parents? His dad of course said "He was complying with the cop". What a crock! If he was complying he would not have been shot! Parents need to be parents and teach them right from wrong and not let them run wild at all hours of the night. It is not the police department's job to keep track of your kids!

I am 35 weeks and recently I have been experincing a piercing pain inside my vagina? It feels like someone is poking my cervix with a sharp object. Has anyone ever felt this and if so, what was it? My doctor said IT MIGHT be pre-term labor, but I dont have contractions except for Braxton Hicks.

She is in kindergarten, her grandmother watches her after school, & she never goes anywhere there isn't an adult that doesn't have a phone (whether it be a land line or cell phone). So why get her a phone? Am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous?

I'm 35 weeks and in preterm labor. The past few weeks I've been having mild contractions of and on. But the last 2 days I've been having really painful stabbing pains on the sides of my stomach. Could it be labor? Also I haven't been checked in about 6 weeks, but when I was, I was 100% effaced and 1cm dilated.

My mom won't let me be on the swim team, because she hates bathing suits and hates to see me wearing them. Although I'm pretty skinny (not really stick-SKINNY), but people say I have a nice body, and I don't really see the problem. Anyway, I LOVE to swim, something I live to do, but my mom won't let me be on the team, just because of the clothing I'll have to wear.

Also, I love psychology. My mom took it in college and hated it. Therefore, she's not allowing me to take AP psychology next year--but I love the subject. It's one of my most favorite subjects ever, and I want to major in it, but my mom won't let me because she thinks it will corrupt my mind.

How do I convince my mom about these two things?

i am about 11 weeks pregnant and a couple days ago i noticed a pain in my shoulder. its not a bad pain...just enough to worry me because i remember reading somewhere that shoulder pain can be a sign of ectopmic pregnancy. i dont have any abdominal pain or bleeding at all or anything... so i dont know what it could be could someone help?
