Our 14yr old son who will be 15 in Feb. insists that he can fend for himself and can be trusted to be left alone for two days.
He is an honor student, (which really doesn't matter now a days), well behaved, and seems responsible enough to be left alone.
We are planning a short get away about an hour away and he does not want to go with us.
I have searched the web and there is really nothing stating a "legal" age. We are in NC state, and nothing stated with child services.
There will be family near by, about 3 miles away, and friends and neighbors.
Nowadays, I really don't know if there is a legal age.
I was left alone at the age of 12 for a couple of days, way back when, but times have changed.
Can anyone give me "facts", or a website to confirm my question?
Thank you all!

The truth about this is that most parents shy away from the real thing. Some argue that exposing the under age children into sex in a way of education will increase their chances of be wayworld or sex scandals in the future while others believe that exposing the children to sex in a way of education is the only sure way to control the curtail future immorality becos according to them, the children will be well informed in the implication (Good and Bad reward) associate with sex in any level.

What is your opinion and views on this aspect as a parent or potential (future) parent. Ensure you are sincere in your contributions.

Just curious
At what age did you decide to start weening your baby and in what year did this take place (cos guidelines keep on changing)
Did you find yourself criticised because others thought it was too early / too late to start.
When, in your opinion, should weening take place.

I ovulated on the 27th came on 13dpo. light bleeding then went to the heavyest i have ever had. Had a super tampon in and it leaked every hour badly and lots and lots of pain. Well i came off yesterday and had sex with BF and started bleeding straight after. i just thought it was the rest coming out. But this morning i started bleeding heavy again with lots of pain and i have just passed a really dark red clot about 2 inches long and about a centemeter thick. Now if that was a misscarrige then why did i have AF 13dpo. Was this just a heavy period with a big clot. did any one pass a clot this big and was just a period. Thanks
hannah

Someone we know took her kid into school today, despite the fact that she'd been throwing up this morning. Is this right? Isn't there some kind of 48-hour rule regarding vomiting and diarrhoea?

I find it pretty selfish personally - passing round the germs like that! She seemed to find it amusing though! *shrugs*

i am 18 yrs old and recently lost my virginity (about a year ago). now in the yr 2007, i have been pregnant two times. the first time i got an abortion (parents didnt know) and the 2nd time, i had a miscarriage (parents didnt know). i have never used birth control. call me stupid but my parents are not the type to tell me that i need to be safe if i am sexually active. they are the type of parents that say "you better not have sex!!" but in reality, it was bound to happen. i am 18 yrs old and have a boyfriend so it is a possibility of us having sex. but my parents are in denial of us having sex. i am human and it is likely for teens to have sex. so is the reason i have been pregnant 2 times this yr. my parents fault because they did not educate me on birth control???

My daughter and her friends were invited to a Hannah Montana concert to celebrate one of her friend's birthday. The girl's parents bought the tickets and I assume they will be going. My daughter is the only one from the group not going because it's on a school night (Wednesday) and the concert starts at 7 pm. She's now being ostracized for not being there for her friend's birthday. Should pre-teens be allowed to go to a pop concert on a school night? My daughter has no problem with the decision of not going. To make her friend feels better, she has arranged to celebrate the "special day" with her friend separately. However, her friend started to write some hurtful emails which made my daughter feel like she has to defend her reasons for not going. Such drama.

Between the two of us, my husband & I are German, Russian, Slovak, Irish and Scottish. We are not going with any names beginning with A, G or U because of what her initials would be. We have also found we really don't like the way M or N names sound, since it sounds like they run together with the first name. Also, so far we are staying away from middle names with two syllables since then the name gets a sing-song effect when said all together and we don't want that. The last thing we were hoping for is the name to be not super common, but also not too hard to spell. Thanks much!

If we have a girl we are thinking about naming her...
Elizabeth Kate Foret (4a)
Elizabeth has to stay because my husband loves that name but would any other middle name sound good or should i stick with this one?

They make sense to me, and as a blind future mother it sounds like the most logical and practical idea, but what do others think? What do you think of sighted parents using harnesses?

My house is so untidy most of the time. I have 3 small children aged 6 mths, 2 yrs and a 7 yr old, plus 2 dogs and 3 cats (I love animals) I live with so much junk i feel unable to throw away and theres piles of junk everywhere. I feel too embarressed to let people over, because they're going to think i'm a lazy grot, when the truth is that i dont sit down all day, i'm always cleaning, or tending to the little ones. my yard is a mess because of the dogs (one of them is a naughty husky- the amount of hair she loses is incredible, its all over the yard, its everywhere,). My partner tells me to just relax, but if i dont clean, then no one will. How do people organise a house? What do i keep? What do i throw out? How do i stop my animals from stinking the place up? I've lost so much weight, I barely get time to eat, i'm just cleaning all the time and getting absolutely nowhere. HELP! No one elses house is like mine i'd appreciate any suggestions/handy tips...

First off I should start by saying I am late for my menstrual cycle and lately I have been experiencing rib pains and last night very sharp pains starting from my "bikini" line and going all the way down into my vaginal area. Before the pains I have noticed that my body has produced a lot more clear milky fluid than ever before. So I'm asking are these early signs of pregnancy? Or am I just overreacting? Please any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
P.S. Today I took a test and it showed up negative but those tests aren't always 100% accurate, right?

I have no idea what to name my baby. I (think) it's a girl and I can't come up with a name. Maybe that means it's a boy! Ha. We'll find out on Thursday at our ultrasound. Meanwhile, what do you think of the names Cadence and Aubrey? How about Annika? Other ideas? I typically like 2 syllable names for some reason...

I am now three days late which is very uncharacteristic. (The last time I was even a day late I was pg with SURPRISE #4) but the catch is I have an IUD. I had a bit of stress in my life last week but usually I handle stuff like that pretty well. My only concern is last month I had a weird period that lasted the usual 4 days but then I spotted for the whole next week. Very light but definitely spotting. You'd think I'd know what to do after 4 kids but this is something new for me. Am I being overly anxious? What are the chances?

If I get the EWCM and cervix is high and soft does this mean I ovulate? Is it a "guarantee" of ovulation or impending ovulation?
