Think the best ovulation predictor test are the predictor make. you have a smiley face when the hormone levels are higher, but remember these tests only give you one indication that ovulation might take place, the only way to actually know if you have ovulated is to take your temperature as your temperature rises after ovulation. You cannot use a mathematical formula to tell when you will ovulate as ovulation can vary from month to month and depends on many things, ie stress levels, sickness, travel..... You may have a 28day cycle but you might ovulate on day 17 and not on day 14.The best way to get pregnant is to have intercourse when you have cervical mucus as this normally occurs around the time of ovulation as it nourishes the sperm. The most fertile mucus is egg white and this helps the sperm to swim to where they want to be. Hope this helps

You will usually ovulate 12-48 hours after the positive test. You may have tested both times as it was going up and then going back down.

If you have regular cycles, your ovulation is right in the middle, between one cycle beginning and the next cycle beginning.

Example:

Cycle is 28 days
Ovulation occurs at about 14 days (add 3 days to either side) so you're most likely to conceive between day 11 to day 17.

Remember that ovulation occurs by alternating the sides where the ovaries are. First is the right side, then next month is the left side. IF they are regular, you can use the basic formula stated above. if you are irregular,(as most are) use the tests. You're looking for two positive tests in a row, one day apart. The hormone levels are high enough to show ovulation has occurred. Once that happens, . . get in the saddle and get working on getting pregnant!

You may have caught the beginning and end of your LH surge. After the first positive it isn't necessary to test anymore. You'll most likely ovulate between 24 & 36 hours after the first positive.

Best of luck to you!
