My 6 year old son is obsessed with toy guns. That's all he likes to play with. He even builds them with his Legos and KNex. I do admit, they are pretty detailed and quite impressive but is it normal to only have those interests?

My 12 year old daughter has recently taken a very bad side to life. First I found two packs of empty ciggerettes and empty beer cans in her laundry basket and then she ran up a $1000 phonebill! And just recently she beat up her 10 year old brother.

I've been thinking and I think I should send her to boarding school. I'm a single mom and I can't handle this. Is this good or bad? And if good, please give me links to boarding schools outside of Georgia. Thanks.

My daughter lost two of the teeth about 2 years ago. The permanent teeth still haven't come in. Her dentist wont do anything because there is no telling when her teeth will erupt. My ex husband wont leave me alone about it cause he doesn't want her to have braces. He's threatening to take me court because I'm not taking worried about her needing braces. She's been to 3 different dentist and I have gotten the same answer. If I get spacers they will be a waste of money and chances are she's still going to need braces. How do explain to him there is nothing we can do now? I told him everything and he's still not listening. He wont go to the dentist about it either.

I have a 5 yr old girl who regularly complains about being hungry. I have every reason to believe that she is only asking to eat because she is bored, and not truly hungry (although she insists otherwise). I believe this because she only asks when not engaged with activities or playing with friends. It happens during quiet times, while watching movies, or at bedtime. She eats three square meals a day and eats well at mealtime.

When she asks,I often try to distract her by playing with her, thinking she asked out of boredom. This only serves as a temporary solution though. I've also warned her that eating too much when she is not hungry is unhealthy (similar rationalizations have worked well with her), but this has no effect.

Should I be worried about overfeeding her? Or should I trust that she knows when she is hungry? Is this maybe just a phase she is going through, or should I persist in trying to educate her against this?

Thank you, any advice or experiences are appreciated.

Both my daughter and the boy that brought the knife to school are 9 years old. The boy was threatening to kill other children! It clearly states in the student handbook that there is a "no tolerance" law, and any student that brings a weapon to school will be automatically expelled. The boy got ONLY 2 days of in-school suspension!! I am very angry about this, because it basically says tells the children nothing will happen if you bring a weapon to school! I plan to go to the office as soon as school is back in to speak to the principal about this. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than going to the school?!

My eight year old recently got caught cheating on a test, and his teacher called me up, and when he got home, I told him I would think of a punishment for him.
Wat should his punishment be?

You know how little kids, like under 10 years old, sometimes say rude or embarrassing things. Maybe it didn't happen to you, but did you witness it happen to someone else?

I found about seven pornography magazines in my 10 year old son's closet. I also found 3 dvds in his dresser, as well as numerous websites bookmarked on his computer. I thought he was a little young for pornography, and i don't want to embarrass him by talking to him about it. He is very sensitive due to the divorce of my husband and I. The last thing i want is to make him upset in this terrible situation. Does anyone else think he may be young? What should I do?

My 12 year old son thinks its wrong for me to take away his things he bought with Christmas money when he acts impoperly.Today he was acting very inappropriatly throwing attitude toward me and his siblings. I took his playstation 2 away from him temporarily that he bought with Christmas money. He feels that since he bought it that it cant be taken. He thinks its fine to take an actual gift from Christmas. I feel that taking something bought with Christmas money is the same as taking a gift.

My partner and I have been together for 15 years and about 7 years ago we decided to have a baby. Now we have our daughter Miriam and she's a happy kid except for when she's at school. When she's at school a lot of the kids make fun of her for having two mommies.

How can I help her/ make them stop teasing her?

My niece is on a cheerleading team and I said I'd coach.

The school said we should try the coed thing and I was really liking it.

Today the princapal called me in and said that the boys are really distracted by the way I dress. I'm 28 and these boys are 16-18. He say that the boys take pictures of me in my tank and shorts and put it in their lockers. They say that I am sexually harrassing them, when I never touched them!

They say I need to stop dressing like this or I will be fired! Is this fair? What should I do?
