My niece is on a cheerleading team and I said I'd coach.
The school said we should try the coed thing and I was really liking it.
Today the princapal called me in and said that the boys are really distracted by the way I dress. I'm 28 and these boys are 16-18. He say that the boys take pictures of me in my tank and shorts and put it in their lockers. They say that I am sexually harrassing them, when I never touched them!
They say I need to stop dressing like this or I will be fired! Is this fair? What should I do?

This is very important to me and I do not find it fair that I cannot wear tanks and shorts, yet the kids can.

It's a very difficult situation. The boys are wrong for exploiting what you wear and taking pictures of you. The school is allowed to tell you what to wear because you are the person in authority and their first obligation is to the children, perhaps parents have complained, or overheard what their children are saying and don't like it.
It's a simple change of dress, which your employer has asked you to change and are within their rights to ask you to do so. Just wear a t-shirt and some warm up pants or longer shorts, it's not really that big a deal for you to change. Unless of course, you -like- the attention they give you.

Yes and No
The boys are wrong
My brother when her was in high school, had a young teacher, that dressed sexy. All the boys in the class were failing the class. She was told to change her clothes. She did, the boys did better
Where t-shirts
They can not say anything about that
The boys are wrong
But it's easier to have you wear a t-shirt, then have the boy stop taking pictures

It might not sound fair to you....but if all it is going to take is dressing in some baggie shorts and a t-shirt...then dress that way. No, it isn't fair, but what goes through young boys minds isn't fair either. Wear a burlap sack if that is what it is going to take.

Wow. Sounds like you are getting harassed. You need to decide how important this is to you. I'd suggest you start wearing a short sleeve shirt and longer shorts. Its unfair of them, but I'd not like the idea of teen guys staring at my body either. Its not right for these teen boys to harass you out of something you enjoy just because they are jerks.

well especially in the school you should dress as conservatively as possible and they can fire you if they see that the way you are dressing is distracting the boys... even in school children have dress codes and if they do not follow them they can be dismissed from school as well and just because you are an adult doesn't make any difference b/c you run a school program

I believe that makes sense. You are almost 30 years old your not a teenager you are an adult dress appropriately ESPECIALLY when u know you are going to be around a bunch of teenage boys if it effecting them then just do it why make a fuss abt it.

Wear Karate Gi and practice groin kicks- maybe on principal. Katas good practice- do same for cheer leading drills. Use stretches and kumite drills, if cheerleader team can't encourage home team maybe can discourage opposition with kicks to head and board breaking. You have teenage boys to train, you are old enough to be aware of Hormones=brain deficiency. Loose full T shirt might help a bit, tell boys to behave and invite principal to lead exercise drill while you take pictures.

You are the adult and it's your responsibility. I'm not saying you are harassing them or flirting or anything, just use common sense.
