Forget what is appropriate or not, it is a useless term constructed by people who don`t know what else to answer. If you and your daughter feel comfortable about it, she can of cause sleep in your bed. There are no valid arguments for not doing it.

Jeez, what is wrong with people today. How may of you would say it is wrong if it was a woman and her son?

I am a single mom and my 6-yo sleeps with me most nights out of necessity, not enough space or money for more space. If you're not sleeping stark naked, there is no reason that you should not be allowed to sleep with your baby girl. If you are a freak that is going to abuse your child, you don't need to be in a bed to do so. It is hard enough being a single parent without feeling like you can't show affection and closeness for your child just because of your gender.

As difficult as it is to hear (and probly harder a habit to break) I would have to say that the 6 year old and the father should be sleeping in seperate beds. She is getting older now and not a little baby anymore (of corse she will always be daddy's little girl). She is at an age she (and daddy) has to start more independence from each other.

No! My daughter goes to her dad's house every other weekend. He rents a room, so they sleep in his King Size bed together. She is 5. I don't think it's weird. If there are some questions as to this person's character then yes, there's a problem, but it's her father!

I don't know what the hell single has to do with it.
As long as there is no abuse and both are in pj's etc
I don't see anything wrong with it.
However(Daddy)you know that some people are going to think that your doing something even if your not.
For your own sake and reputation I would try to get her used to sleeping alone.
I know you love your baby and he loves you but why tempt fate?

It depends on the type of person the father is. Of course if he is a good father than no problem, cause he proably wouldn't let her stay there all night. On the other hand if he make you think sometime don't leave her in the room with not alone sleep with him

I did. My father was a moral man, who would never harm me, so we would sleep together and just cuddle, and I loved it and him, it was wonderful. People always assume terrible things, but unless the father is very very selfish and twisted, most of the time in most families, children sleeping in trust with their dads is totally innocent.

No, he's her father. Unless he's some child molester or something, I don't see a problem with it. It reassures him that his daughter is safe in the night, and it reassures the daughter that she is safe because she is still considerably young.
The only flaw I can see with her doing this EVERY night is that she will never learn to sleep in a bed by herself, which is something she is someday going to have to do.

Not necessarily, but eventually.

YES. It is inappropriate for a 6 year old to be sleeping in their parents room period. She has her own room, own bed and needs to be in it every night.
