I have a 13 month old daughter who is walking and running very well and everytime we go shopping she gets fed up after 15 mins or so and struggles to get out of the stroller she cries and thrashes around to get out so I get her out and carry her but then she squirms to get down. When I put her down to walk she always takes off running she wont walk with me and is to young to understand holding hands. When I try to pick her up again or gain some kind of control over the situation she throws a monster tantrum and the shopping trip is over. She used to love being in the stroller and shopping was great until she learnt how to walk i dread shopping and I cant go without a second person to help me with her. What can I do to improve our shopping trips and prevent any further behavioural problems in the future? And has anyone else had this problem with a child of such a young age?

I see many women jumping into conclusion when someone says their milk dried up or the baby failed to latch.Almost all mothers love to feed their babies with their own milk. But i have seen ladies who couldnt feed their babies due to certain ailments or some emotional shock.(Oh you accept it or not its up to you)Some people have inverted nipples & the baby finds it hard to latch on.The nipple shape matters a lot while feeding.(educated ppl understand this.the rest may not accept to it & again its up to you) For drying up of milk, the doctor can give some medicines to help the patient to come out of the trauma. But for the one who has enough milk but could not feed due to the nipple shape or since the baby failed to latch, the option is to pump milk & store it & feed it through a bottle. Now i need to know how to store that pumped milk!Whether room temperature or should it be kept in the deep freezer or just in the normal compartment of the fridge & for how many hrs can that milk be stored!

My fiance has a 1 year old daughter with a woman who has little to no respect for either of us, and makes it a habit to make comments on a recent miscarriage... I am a little worried that as the baby gets older, she will resent me and think that I might have taken her father away from her mother when that is not the situation at all. They had split up even before my fiance's ex found out she was pregnant. I just fear her mother might tell her things, I see that happen all the time with my nieces mother, always making rude comments to a little girl about her father... I respect her mother for being a single mother and I love his daughter as if she were my own but does any one have any suggestions as to showing her as she gets older that she shouldn't resent me or dislike me for anything? I know it sounds silly because she's so young now, but it still worries me all the same.

My 3 year old cousin came home from his babysitter's house the other day and said "julie sex"

Julie is his babysitter. Before this he never knew the word and there's was never any reason for him to say that word. My aunt asked the babysitter and she said nothing went on and she never said that word to him. What do you think we should do?

I had sex with a girl I am very familiar with around mid-September. Because we're reasonable people, we used a condom and went about our merry way. After I ejaculated, I continued thrusting for perhaps 30 to 45 seconds to help her achieve orgasm. I checked afterwards and the condom did not break. A few days ago we realize she's late. At this point, it's less than a week. However, after doing some impromptu math, we realized that we had sex exactly during her normal ovulation. (Great timing, right?) So, here I am up at 5am in a panic. I'm a college student, obviously not ready for a child. What are my odds here, people? Give it to me straight.

Possible contributing factors (stress):
She recently got booted out of her apartment.
Obvious pressures of college.
Stress of not knowing what's going to happen with this.
Problems with an ex.

So, there you have it. Any help would be amazing for my mental health.

My 3 year old cousin loves gum, but he always swallows it. Is this really bad for him? What can happen to him if he keeps swallowing it? How can I get him to chew it but not swallow it?

Where is all the money in the United States? I just don't understand why american citizens have to pay for all the medical costs especially when medical treatment is a neccesity. I live in Canada and we don't pay for OBGYN's, family doc's, pediatricians, or any specialist for that matter. We only pay for like physio therapy or chiropractic services. Even our medications are covered. It just boggles my mind that american citizens are so much in debt when it comes to medical costs which the government should be paying for.
What is Bush doing with all the money? If we can implement some of the US's ways into our own government then why can't the US implement some of our ways? Just a curious question as i see so many women on here with no insurance and so forth that it go me to thinking.

My son is 3 months old and I boil his bottles, pacifiers, teethers [and anything else he puts in his mouth!]
but my husband just got him a Winnie the Pooh teddy bear [that plays music] and it says "Surface Washable ONLY" which means I cannot put it in the washing machine [because it will ruin the music box]! Should I wipe it down with a warm towel or something before I give it to him? [because I know the second I hand it to him -- it's going IN his mouth!]

The Teddy Bear is brand new [right from the Toys R Us shelf] .. so, I should definitely clean it, but is "wiping it down" going to be enough???

[and what about his other stuffed animals that ARE machine washable -- should I wash all of them before I give them to him to play with??]

Thanks :]

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, and my step-mom and dad want us to name a boy after 2 of my little brothers. The thing is, my brothers have Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, and they are terminal. I love my brothers, and having them sick is the hardest thing I will ever face, but I just can't bring myself to agree to naming my baby after them. I don't want my child to remind everyone of something so sad, or for my brothers to feel like they are being replaced in ANY way. Am I being over-sensitive? How do I explain to my parents I just don't want to do this. It will be hard enough being without them when the time come, I don't want my own child to be one more reminder of what I have lost.

My son is 13 and when he is at his mom's house where he lives Mon.-Fri. all he does when he is not in school is play video games. When he is with me on the weekends he gets mad at me because I don't have any.He is bored.I try to get him interested in doing outdoor activities but he does not seem interested.I take him to baseball games,we watch fooball and hockey on TV but nothing.I even have a bike for him(with a helmet)that just sits there. It is even a chore to just get him to take a walk. His mother was never into doing anything like this so it is hard to get him to do things only 1 or 2 days a week because when he goes back to moms it's just video games again.
Can someonegive me some suggestions as to how to get him interested in some type(any type) of physical activitie?

Hi all, I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby and really wondering about how I should bring this little baby into the world. I really want to go natural (with epidural of course) but what if the time comes and I feel I can't do it or I get too scared to go on? Is there anything I can do in the mean time to make natural childbirth easier later on? I'm healthy young and not over weight. Please don't tell me natural is better or c section is better - I know the pros and cons of both, but has anyone ever gone natural or thought they could and when the time came they couldn't??

Thanx ladies!

my son seems to have serious behavioral problems. The other day i walked in to him in a corner smearing his own poop on the wall and eating it. he's 2 and a 1/2. Also he is obsessed with private areas, not only on himself but on other people. i know i shouldnt compare him to other children but i know a lot of people with kids his age and his temper tantrums are more oftem then most of them. why do you think he behaves like this? also, do you think it has to do with all thoes recalled toys they just had about the lead paint? he has a lead level of an 11 right before i sent thoes toys back..i dont know what to do? his tantrums are out of controle, i understand hes two but i cant explain to you in words how unbelieveable these tantrums are.
