My 3 year old cousin came home from his babysitter's house the other day and said "julie sex"

Julie is his babysitter. Before this he never knew the word and there's was never any reason for him to say that word. My aunt asked the babysitter and she said nothing went on and she never said that word to him. What do you think we should do?

Ok, well am I wrong when I say that she should not be talking about sex around a 3 year old?

No because he knows the word sexy. He heard the phrase "hey sexy" in a movie and has repeated it, so if it was "Julies sexy" he would have said "Julies sexy"

He is very smart and has a great vocabulary. I never have a problem understanding what he is saying. I am positive he said "Julie sex"

Its not so much that he says the word 'sex' that would worry me. If you feel there is something wrong going on then small children will often exhibit sexual "behaviors" . I remember when my 19 yr old daughter was 3yrs old. She walked around singing "Me so horny" from 2 Live Crew after seeing the video. At 3 you dont think things like that are harmful and truthfully they are not. She is simply singing a song as if it were Jingle Bells or something. It is the parent that gets all freaked out. Dont make a big deal of the word. HOWEVER if you see sexual behaviors from the child towards toys or other children THEN I would have a concern.

Not to try and offend you, but you really need to let your daughter live her own life. A year or 2 year age gap isn't a big deal. Its when there's a 17 year old and a 40 year old when you need to worry! How do you know he's a 'good for nothing boy'. At least he's going to college and trying to get himself an education unlike some people who sit around all day living off benefits. Give him a chance and stop being so judgmental.

Maybe the babysitter was talking on the phone and he heard the word.

If the child is not tryng to say "six", I would get her out of there right now!!! A child can not tell you what is happening to them. My friend just found out that her sitter's son was molesting her child. The woman had been watching her child for several years, and she had no idea until another older child told his parents. When she confronted her child, the child was just getting old enough to indicate that it had happened to her also.

sometimes the language of a 3yr old can be tricky. My son came home with daddy one day and started saying "fu*k" and iwas like why did youteach him that word, and as it turns out he was trying to say duck, as they saw some ducks on the way home. Maybe your son was saying something else and it sounded like sex?

I wonder if she watches soap operas or something? I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it becomes an on going thing. My son says f**k to truck and other little funny things like that.

If it's at the parents home then hide camera's.. I'm sure ppl have a right to see what's going on with their child.

well his mom shouldn't let him go over to his babysitter if she's going to say things around him you don't want him to repeat.

Inform social services now. It could have been that someone has said..."Julies Sexy"...but you cannot risk it.

maybe he is saying julies "ex" who knows, just let her know, another infraction will make you find another babysitter.

she could have been talking about it, or having it GOD FORBID...I'd have to hurt her.
