Where is all the money in the United States? I just don't understand why american citizens have to pay for all the medical costs especially when medical treatment is a neccesity. I live in Canada and we don't pay for OBGYN's, family doc's, pediatricians, or any specialist for that matter. We only pay for like physio therapy or chiropractic services. Even our medications are covered. It just boggles my mind that american citizens are so much in debt when it comes to medical costs which the government should be paying for.
What is Bush doing with all the money? If we can implement some of the US's ways into our own government then why can't the US implement some of our ways? Just a curious question as i see so many women on here with no insurance and so forth that it go me to thinking.

My medical aid costs me about R1000 ($1=R7).
I live in SA and we dont need medical aid, were allowed to go to state hospitals. In the state hospital, your chances of dying is greater than your chance of dying at home!
My husband and I struggle to make ends meet, but we need MA, as my daughter had to go to hospital a month or so ago and that little trip cost R 8000.
Yeah, healthcare should be free, but the standard shouldnt drop along with the price!
Viva Canada!!!
Hope you can get it into our goverments' thick heads!

Ah yes you do pay for your medical costs, you just dont recognize it. everything that you buy is extremly taxed (we pazy $5 for something while you pay$8), this is then used for your costs. Do you get to choose your Drs? Or are you given a list of who you are allowed to visit and need referal letters to go to other Drs? Yes i wish it cost less, but I dont want mine controlled by the government. I like being able to decide that I dont like a certain practitioner and go to a different one. For the US to convert to your medical system it would take a huge law change and a huge tax increase. Both things Americans wouldn't agree to. So a) YES you do pay for it, prolly more out of pocket than you realise. and b) it would take more than President Bush to change it, it would take all of legislature AND President Bush.
