Is Nirvana a good name for a girl... or no?

im not going to go details why i like this name, and yes it has to do with the band Nirvana, and no, if I wanted to name a kid after someone who killed themself, it would be in celebration of their life! Postive people, positive!

It's definatly diffrent! I kinda like it... but I'm thinking she'll probably Hate it as she gets older. Even if she goes through the whole " I'm an individual... i'm a rebel" stage... she'll grow out of it. And Hate it.

I think its Beautiful - dont listen to naysayers
if that is what you want to name your baby - then go for it
Normal boring names sound stupid anyway if you think about it
BOB, SUE, PAM, MATT,
Unusual Unique names are best - they are more individual and beautiful - A name is supposed to be meaningful -yet people just choose what is popular and what is Socially Accepted - which is really a dumb reason to pick a name - and doing it that way takes away from the Beauty and fun of choosing a name in the first place
Think for yourself - choose something that you really love and that you think your child will love as well

I think two important things about naming a baby are:the literal meaning of the name(you dont want your kid going around with a name that means "Disaster"....AND what the name means to the parents.Now ,Nirvana is of Hindu origin and means"completion;oneness with God" .So in my opinion,Nirvana is a beautiful name for a beautiful baby girl......

Nirvana? No. Your daughter's gonna kill you when she starts going to school and get teased about that. Go for conventional ones.

I think she's going to get teased because of the rock band. So no, it's not a good name.

its ok if you want your child growing up knowing the lead singer of that band commit suicide, and hello but you cannot celebrate the life of someone who never valued his own life in the first place.

noo.. I wouldnt lol. if you want a similar name - Savannah is nicer.. - but Nirvana is a bit too much like calling your child "Led Zeplin"..
