I had sex with a girl I am very familiar with around mid-September. Because we're reasonable people, we used a condom and went about our merry way. After I ejaculated, I continued thrusting for perhaps 30 to 45 seconds to help her achieve orgasm. I checked afterwards and the condom did not break. A few days ago we realize she's late. At this point, it's less than a week. However, after doing some impromptu math, we realized that we had sex exactly during her normal ovulation. (Great timing, right?) So, here I am up at 5am in a panic. I'm a college student, obviously not ready for a child. What are my odds here, people? Give it to me straight.

Possible contributing factors (stress):
She recently got booted out of her apartment.
Obvious pressures of college.
Stress of not knowing what's going to happen with this.
Problems with an ex.

So, there you have it. Any help would be amazing for my mental health.

Oh good god.

I would bet my life on it that a. she is not pregnant and b. her period is late because she is worried and stressed out. She needs to relax.. a cycle can change as well to between 30 and 35 days so she needs to remember that. To be honest you are probably only making it worse by the 2 of you stressing about it together.

And i've got to say who in the world does some 'impromptu math' to know when they are at the peak of ovulation under the age of 30?

Additionally i have to say as well.. if it turns out that she is pregnant, you made it and you deal with it. Together and respecting each others wishes. But in terms of odds, it would be very unlucky indeed if she was knocked up.

I have no idea of the odds but if you have used a condom then you should be safe, if its less than a week I really would get worried at this point in time, peoples bodies change and at one time they may be regular as clockwork another time it can be off on a tandem, especially if the person is very stressed. My advice is see what happens for the near future if it goes longer than a resonable period of time then she should get tested, just try and keep a level and logical head, it can be very hard ive been there myself but if youve been safe the chances are it'll all work out. All the Best.

College stresses and getting booted out of her apartment could contribute to her being late, without there being a pregnancy involved. I suggest getting a test done by a doctor before getting worked up about it. Lots of things can throw a menstrual cycle.

If she is pregnant, and there are issues with an ex, then ask her to take a paternity test.

If it turns out that you are not the father, then you are free and clear, and how she deals with it is up to her from now on.

It seems that she was not menstruating during your sex act, although it was her period of ovulation. Maybe she was already delayed at the time that you were doing the sex act.

She can go to the ob-gyne to find out it she is pregnant. But maybe you are not the one responsible for it.
