its possible you could have had a misscarriage due to the pain and the amount of blood and the clot you described passing. I would recommend going and speaking to your doctor and telling him about what happened, he maybe able to shed more light on the situation.

I was wondeing when you'd be back on here!!
If you are clotting, then your flow is likely to be irregular. I would expect that you hadn't actually finished your period yet.
From what I can gather, your periods are quite irregular. This would mean that any pms symptoms you are experiencing, you would not be used to. While I don't doubt that they hurt like a byatch, I think that it's probably worse because you're not used to it.
If I have not had my period in a while, then yes, I get huge clots. When I first experienced this, I talked to the doctor, she did not seem overly concerned.
Another thing to consider is that you are not used to ovulating, this means that your body is not used to the affects of progesterone.
If the bleeding continues past ten days, or you start to feel unwell, or faint, then i would definitely check in with the doc, but for now, it's just one of the things us women who rarely have periods have to put up with. On the pill my periods were really very light, now, when i do happen to get them, i require normal absorbency tampons, and an overnight pad (cause I have a big butt, the other pads aren't long enough). It's so embarrassing if you have a leak. Stupid being a girl sometimes.

I'm not sure if it was a miscarriage or not, but I have had clots that big. I have had them golf ball size. This was after not having had a period in almost a year though. Once I started getting my period again, the clots were big at first then gradually got smaller. I have read that clots are not normal, but in my case they are. Try checking webmd.com. If you start running a fever or feeling really bad, you should go to the doctor. There are occasions where women have early miscarriages like that but their bodies do not flush everything out, which can lead to serious infection.

You need to go to the doctor right away and find out what is going on.You may need some medical attention to clean out any more possible clots and find out what is causing it so they can treat you . If this is happening do not drink any alcoholic beverages it will make it worse, and no aspirin.
