I am 35 weeks and recently I have been experincing a piercing pain inside my vagina? It feels like someone is poking my cervix with a sharp object. Has anyone ever felt this and if so, what was it? My doctor said IT MIGHT be pre-term labor, but I dont have contractions except for Braxton Hicks.

What you're feeling is the baby's heading pushing down and engaging in the pelvis. Although it means labor is "near" that could still be weeks away.

I've gotten this with all my pregnancies towards the end, and it can be excruciating. The only thing that helps is to sit down or rest or change positions. My midwife suggested getting on my hands and knees (if you're in a convenient place or at home) and that would relieve it sometimes.

I'm 35 weeks as well and I'm in preterm labor. I've had the same pain and my doctor says it's more than likely the baby engaging in the birth canal getting ready for delivery. 35 weeks is a normal time for this to happen so I'd say it's normal, but if you are that worried you should call your doctor just to be safe. Good luck!

I had that with my last baby. It ended up being her pushing down and also I had started dilating before I had contractions. Which is pretty normal. I was stuck at a dang 2 forever. But during that whole tie I thought I was dying from the pain. I hope it gets better. I know the only thing that worked to ease it for me was laying with a pillow in between my legs for most of the time till I had her. Good luck and congrats.

its normal dont stress over it, i am 36weeks pregnant and have been getting that since i was like 26-27weeks pregnant. So no need to think you are in preterm labour, you would know if you was in labour, if you are really that super worried about it head down to L&D and ask to be hooked up to a CTG machine it will monitor baby's heart beat and also check to see if you are having contractions.

I'm having that pain now and I'm only 27 weeks. Doc said I was just fine, though.
