I'm 35 weeks and in preterm labor. The past few weeks I've been having mild contractions of and on. But the last 2 days I've been having really painful stabbing pains on the sides of my stomach. Could it be labor? Also I haven't been checked in about 6 weeks, but when I was, I was 100% effaced and 1cm dilated.

That doesn't sound like labor.

Sharp pains on the sides of your belly could be round ligament pain, but to be on the safe side call your nurse or doctor esp. since you have experienced pre-term labor.

I would go and get checked out just to play it safe.I went threw the same thing at about 34 weeks and i had a uti which was the cause of my preterm labor.I got antibiotics and the contractions stopped until i had her at 37 weeks and 4 days.

Usually labor isn't felt like a stabbing pain, more of a bad cramping.

But you should always call your doctor if you aren't sure, especially if you had problems with preterm labor!

I'm 35 weeks too and I get the same pains..but it's just those early contractions you get that the body does to prepare yourself for labor. BUT you might as well go to the hospital and get checked out! Better safe than having your baby at home by yourself! haha
BEST OF LUCK SWEETY! AND CONGRATULATIONS!
