Why can you not take out an insurance policy on a stranger's life? On a related note, how does this concept relate specifically to the case of Da Costa v Jones where a man wagered on the gender of the Chevalier d'Eon but the contract was held invalid.

This double standard of democrats being allowed to do anything and republicans being forced from office for the same is getting tiresome. How about not letting anyone vote on any contract going to companies/corporations they or their immediate family own? A congress that can justify insect damage to crops in Neveda needs to be on the Iran/Afghanistan aid bill, should be able to figure out how to write legislation to cover this conflict of intrest. Note a sizeable amount of these contracts are awarded without bidding process. But after six years in charge she has stepped down, how ethical! We need a bipartisan standard, not one that removes no crooks from either side of the aisle, but allows no crooks of either party to remain in congress. What you think?

I am a new health insurance agent and have this client. A pretty good size one that I have been working on for weeks. Its the end of the quarter and were trying to close it in 2 days. Were working with an HR person who lives out of state. She is refusing to let us see the employees to have them sign the necessary documents. The company is paying for their policies all the employees need to do is just sign 2 things. This is illegal for me to send paper documents over to her and have them sign it without me present correct. If someone has had a situation like this please help me out. Also we went to the owner (HR sister) and she told me to talk to the HR person. Weve gone around in circles for weeks with her. I will lose me license due to errors and omissions if i do this and something goes wrong, correctI just need some help. I know theres a lot of info that is left out. But any help would be great. Thanks

I just heard there was a ban on plastic bags in grocery stores in San Fransisco! Now if there was a city to ban bags, this is the one I would expect to do so, but thats besides the point. Anyway when will this restriction on freedom end? Do you think this is too far?

If I want to carry home groceries from a san fran grocery store, I should have the right to do so.

Based on employer arbitration agreements, It is at least implied that an employee has no right to file a valid Title IV complaint with the EEOC.
I have seen two cases that have gone both was so there really is no president that I know of.
Has the Supreme Court or Congress made a decision on this?

The Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Canada do not want the sexual age of consent to be changed from 14 to 16 .
The Conservative Goverment has made a proposal which is will protect children from being exploited by adults. The general consensus is that teenagers, regardless of what the age of consent is will still sexually expeiement. This is clearly not a direct Gay Rights issue .Raising the age of sexual consent will not hinder from recieving information about human sexuality. It doesn't infringe on their rights either.
A openly Gay teacher in Milton Ontario, agrees that the age of sexual consent should be higher, based on what he has seen in the school where he teaches. {source; Xtra web-ste/age of consent/readers comments.}

Ok, today my 8 Year old son came home from school with red marks, crying telling us his teacher agressivly poked him on the shoulder, telling Him " JUST WRITE IT" over and over again.. he estimates she poked him about 10 times in the middle of class with all the other kids watching..I contacted the teacher and asked her if there was a problem she said " not that she was aware of" after a little talking she admited she did touch him. i told her not to ever touch him again. i Recorded the conversation, because IOWA ( the sate where i live is a one party state ) the Conversation IS admissiable in court. I then contacted the super intendant, who said i should contact law inforcement, we contact law inforcement who took pictures and copied the recording. Do I press charges? police said it would be a simple Assult if found guilty,with$100.00 fine and they would put him on the stand and it would be hard.Do i Take Civial action?this has been on going problem&she is Definatly singaling him out

The National Firearms Act (NFA) strictly regulated the possession of automatic weapons, however there was no provision included exempting Police Officers from this act (other than on duty).

Police Officers should have a right to protect their families and their home. Criminals who ignore the NFA are armed with automatic weapons. Yet the society expects officers to take away the freedom of murderous thugs who bear grudges, and not have enough protection for when they get our of prison. Shouldn't the NFA be amended to allow police the right to have whatever weapons they deem decessary to protect their home and loved ones? Including automatic weapons and grenades?

I got hired to work for X company. I didn't lie on my resume but I'm worried that the background check might show that I was dishonest with them. I've never really held an actual job that req. me to fill out forms for taxes. The jobs that I listed on my resume were family oriented... I just got paid out of their pockets. I also put down on my resume my internships/ volunteer work. I freaking out. My potential boss said that he wanted to see if I've ever been convicted of a crime and if my ssn is valid. I'm a 20 year old college student. All my life I've been in school. Family work was my main ave. to getting $$. Can I use that as an excuse also? Should I worry? What do I do? Please help me.

It's me again, I had asked awhile back about a fathers rights if he is a child molestor, drug addict, and a deadbeat. We had the hearing today, and the Guardian at Litem, after getting evidence of all of the above. Not only kept visitation, but gave him more time because of spring break. I know this sounds far fetched, I know your saying to yourself, "how could he allow this "man" around these kids. But this is the same thing we keep asking ourselves. I am not making this up, this is the truth. Please help. We need any help we can get to protect these kids.

For my urban studies class were preparing for a “militarization of space debate”

SO MY TEAM HAS TO DEBATE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT-
AND DISAGREE WITH SECURITY CHECKS AND BE AGAISNST THEM.

Security checks,
Increased security checks at airports-even when targeted at people of particular racial, national, ethnic or religious backgrounds-have nothing to do with racism. These procedures are necessary for national security.

What is your main message?
What are the key issues, values or principles at stake? How can you highlight them>
What counter arguments do you expect and how will you respond

So please give me some reasons why there should NOT – be any security checks,
And why you are against security checks at airports.

PLEASE HELP
