i do it and there is only pros. just gotta know how and when to use your money.

the pros are that this way you can spend it in a way that you feel is right and your parents don't have to take control over them the cons are that this way you'll think that you have lots of money and you'll just spend it the first couple of days and then you'll be pretty much broke hope that helps

im not 16 anymore but i remember it well... yes i did have control of my own cash, but made many mistakes and lost a good amount on stupid stuff... it all depends on how mature u are, if u dont go into a store wanting something everytime, you probably are old enough to control yourself, but if u catch urself buying something everytime u go some where, dont be hesitant to get help with managing ur money.

I was 16 and i was in control of my money but i also worked for my money and I was very responsible with my money. I only bought what i needed. I even bought my sister's and I school supplies and clothes one year because my mom could not afford it.

A insignificant amount of money, yes. A large amount of money is rarely handed over blindly to a 16 year old. They're far too stupid to know what to do with it.
