You shouldn't stop paying child support. But if you can submit proof that who ever the child is in care is making more and is more stable than you and you can prove that you are struggling and that the child can live comfortably based on the person who is caring for the child, their income. The judge may lessen or stop payment for child support. If you stop payment without consent of the court, your wages will be garnished and that will get you into a whole lot of trouble in life

You pay child support until your child turns 18 or you can prove the child's parent in possession can pay all of the expenses...very unlikely

doesn't really say much for you
A child doesn't ask to be born If you didn't want to pay child support then you should have used protection, it's called abstinence.
You should be asking how can I make life better for my child not how do I get out of paying!
Children today have too many things against them as it is let alone having parents who doesn't want them. I hope you had parents who loved you and I pray you will grow to love your child.
I will pray for you!

How could you stop paying for a life that you brought into this world ??? Only a parent who has an "I don't give a damn" attitude would do such a thing... be a man and take care of your responsibilities ! It takes a real man to admit his mistakes, and it takes an honest and decent man to pay for them !!!

well the honor system doesnt work, thats been proven. thats also why the state and federal government passed stronger laws; they are TIRED of parents not paying for their children.

there are two ways out:

1) the new spouse of your ex adopts the child
2) you drop dead

todays courts wont allow a parent to just sign over their rights unless there is someone willing to adopt the child, such as a new spouse.

today, no matter where you go, they will find you; all states are connected (called interstate cases). GONE are the days of hiding til the child hits 18, today, arrears are FOREVER.

today, everyone pays for their children.

Get custody of your children, and have her pay YOU child support.

'Course, unless she's a major crackhead, you've got about as much chance of getting custody of your kids as you do of knocking over a skyscraper with a fart.

it is called ... DO NOT have children and DO NOT contribute your genetic material ... so keep your drawers zipped up and then you won't have Child Support!

You don't (and shouldn't). It's called being a parent!

Next time, use protection if you don't want the responsibility or parenthood.
