I got hired to work for X company. I didn't lie on my resume but I'm worried that the background check might show that I was dishonest with them. I've never really held an actual job that req. me to fill out forms for taxes. The jobs that I listed on my resume were family oriented... I just got paid out of their pockets. I also put down on my resume my internships/ volunteer work. I freaking out. My potential boss said that he wanted to see if I've ever been convicted of a crime and if my ssn is valid. I'm a 20 year old college student. All my life I've been in school. Family work was my main ave. to getting $$. Can I use that as an excuse also? Should I worry? What do I do? Please help me.

I wouldn't worry about it. The background check usually refers to either a criminal histroy check or a credit check, neither of which will show any of your past employers. Currently, there isn't a check that can be performed that will attach your name to every employer you've ever worked for. If this were the case, there would be no need for a resume or prior work history on your application because this information would appear on the background check. If your jobs were family oriented (i.e. mowing your parents lawn) that's not a problem. If any questions arise about who you worked for, be honest and provide contact information so they can verify it. As long as you didn't lie about anything than you're in the clear.

Additionally, if your only 20 and have been going to school most employers will be understanding of your lack of experience. If the job your applying for is entry-level than your future employer doesn't expect a long diverse work history anyway. Such experience may overqualify you and get you disqualified. If you need help refining your resume, I would recommend talking to one of your school counselors. Chances are also good that your college has a student work program or office with people who would be glad to help you create a resume and tell you what should and shouldn't be in it.

I hope it helps, good luck!

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNI5D

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

Don't worry, be happy!!! All a background check with show is that you are who you say you are, and that you haven't been convicted of any crimes. It won't show who you've worked for in the past, or how much you've made. I hope this helps.
