The National Firearms Act (NFA) strictly regulated the possession of automatic weapons, however there was no provision included exempting Police Officers from this act (other than on duty).

Police Officers should have a right to protect their families and their home. Criminals who ignore the NFA are armed with automatic weapons. Yet the society expects officers to take away the freedom of murderous thugs who bear grudges, and not have enough protection for when they get our of prison. Shouldn't the NFA be amended to allow police the right to have whatever weapons they deem decessary to protect their home and loved ones? Including automatic weapons and grenades?

I think machine guns should be used and owned only by the military and it should be a very serious violation of the law for anyone else to have one.

I don't know where you live, but I hope I never live in such a place of fear. When we hear gunfire in my southern sleepy town, we wonder who is hunting and what they got. Sometimes you can tell that Donald Ray has got himself a new gun and is out learning a thing or two about it.

Murderous Thugs are rarely, if ever seen in my town. Since you are, in the scheme of things, responsible for keeping my life at peace, know that I am thankful every day.

We do, however, have a problem with desperate people. People who have little or nothing to lose. I think that we are seeing the symptoms and are ignoring the disease. The disease of lack of integrity, lack of a greater purpose, misplacement of honor and allegiances. We have forgotten that we are brothers and sisters.

As far as the police having machine guns..... I am sure there is a fear that runs deep in our politicians and law makers that an armed militia may make trouble so it is unwise to arm a large group outside of the military. Where do muderous thugs get this kind of armament? If we can keep track of diseases, all credit transactions, all keystrokes on a computer, what comes in any of our ports, how can we not keep track of guns?

Of direction you'll be able to possess decide on-hearth guns and sound suppressors whether or not you are SWAT or no longer. You are first processed by way of your neighborhood police leader or sheriff and post 2 units of fingerprints to the BATF and FBI and pay $2 hundred.00 to the US Treasury for a tax stamp one time for each and every object to be accepted and registered. This is the National Firearms Act that has been the legislation given that 1934. Any unregistered machinegun has been illegally changed, stolen, synthetic or imported and includes with it a necessary 10 12 months federal jail sentence.

The NFA is unconstitutional. So yes police and the populace should be allowed to own automatic weapons.

The majority of cops have an IQ of about 10, are dumber than a box of rocks, would be on welfare if they weren't cops, or selling their *** on the street and crack just like the people they arrest. I'll never understand why that show COPS never hauls a DC politician out of his car, put him in handcuffs for the cops protection, and start rummaging through pockets, and make him sit on the road curb while he searches his car. Seems as though if you're a female or wearing a white collar that you're exempt from government police tactics.

Why should a descent citizen be deprived of his constitution right to bear & carry arms, I really believe if they were allowed to carry such weapons that you'd see even more killings by police then already their getting away with now! Especially in California, you see a awlful lot of citizens being shot and killed by police just because they thought they were carrying a weapon?, hello just another excuse for them, I believe if nobody else has such weapons then no the police shouldn't have them either, what make's them any thing special! If nobody had such weapons then the police wouldn't need them neither! Example as follows: A man stuck on a concrete divider in a army tank with a broken track, where's he gonna go?, the police were even able to climb up on this tank and open the lid om the tank and then on t.v. no less they just opened fire inside of the tank killing the man who was mentally unstable, why didn't they just shot tear gas into the tank a waited for him to come out and then arrested him?, instead they murdered him right on t.v. and got away with it. This man in the tank never hurt or killed anyone! Just someone who lost everything and nobody wanted to help him, but they killed him, hummmmm doesn't figure to me???.

i think the law about gun owner ship, that's hand guns, rifles, shot guns, and machine guns are stupid. they hurt the law abiding citizen and let the criminals go with little on no punishment.
cops and law abiding citizens should be allowed to own any gun, the laws for criminal should be very stiff. i know if someone comes into my house i want my wife to unload the clip in them and before she does anything else reload.
a dead criminal tells no lies.
but for grenades and other explosive devices, No only the military should have those.

Who needs an automatic if you have a good shotgun?

And yes, I'd feel safe if the cops had automatics. Hand grenades no, but M-16's and fully auto AK-47's yes.

Well actually anyone with a couple hundred bucks, and a class, what, I think 3 firearms permit can own a machine gun. Cops are already armed with .40 cal pistols...or something similar. Machine guns would make it hard, for CQB....
