Would having parents of children who jump on the trampoline sign a liability waiver hold up in a court of law?

We used to have a trampoline when my oldest kids were still at home. What I did was have parents of any kids who jumped on it sign a waiver of any liability.

I had a little trampoline rule thing posted also. I don't remember exactly what it said, but it was basically, "Use at your own risk", "Possibility of injury exists", "No one allowed without the waiver"...that type of thing.

Never had any problems. Some parents were lightly annoyed to have to sign the thing, but I didn't care...Most were fully understanding though.

It's easier to not let anyone else use it. And check your home insurance policy. Although you will have householder's liability on that, you should check that specific devices like a trampoline are covered.

yeah but to me that is even extreme. Just make sure you speak to the parents and tell them their kids might get hurt. Say i will do everything i can to make sure they dont but accidents happen. Or just get a waiver but that makes me sad that our society has come to this.

There is one basic answer to that question and that is;
Only let your kids jump on it and no one "else's". There is no possible way for a lawsuit then.

Wearing a helmet would be a good idea. And some arm pads, shoulder pads, knee pads...?
