is there a law making it illegal to host gambling events at ones home, especially if the person is under 21?

also, i had a game like this where one person lost $550 dollars and claimed that the host was cheating, and stole it back. the host wants to sue, but could he since this was an illegal practice to begin with?

I'm not sure about laws in Colorado, but it could be illegal. However, these laws are hardly ever enforced... I doubt any law enforcement agency will have a problem with you playing poker with your buddies. As long as the owner of the house isn't running a poker room (meaning a business where they benifit from the game) you probably can go ahead and host the game.
