The Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Canada do not want the sexual age of consent to be changed from 14 to 16 .
The Conservative Goverment has made a proposal which is will protect children from being exploited by adults. The general consensus is that teenagers,regardless of what the age of consent is will still sexually expeiement. This is clearly not a direct Gay Rights issue .Raising the age of sexual consent will not hinder from recieving information about human sexuality. It doesn't infringe on their rights either.
A openly Gay teacher in Milton Ontario, agrees that the age of sexual consent should be higher, based on what he has seen in the school where he teaches. {source; Xtra web-ste/age of consent/readers comments.}

Yes, you are right, people who claim to be "christian" and then spew such hatred really are hypocrites. Some even make up "facts" without listing any sources.
Of course I agree that God makes people LGBT or straight, and both are just variations of sexual orientation, neither being more "right" or "moral" than the other. Yes, we are agreed that sexual orientation does not change over time, is not a "choice," and does not need to be "cured."

The age of consent in Canada was already increase over a year ago with restriction to account for normal teenage experimentation.
