I just heard there was a ban on plastic bags in grocery stores in San Fransisco! Now if there was a city to ban bags, this is the one I would expect to do so, but thats besides the point. Anyway when will this restriction on freedom end? Do you think this is too far?

If I want to carry home groceries from a san fran grocery store, I should have the right to do so.

Here we go, all of the Rednecks who know nothing will have stupid opinions.
The """Ban""" applies only to drug stores and super markets.
If you ever lived in the City of San Francisco you would know that very few people shop at Super Markets. Everyone uses Public Transportation and does that days shopping at local stores. The way America bused to be before WALMART.
Where I lived all of the major Super Markets had pulled out.
Only Trader Joe hung in there and they don't use plastic bags anyway.

It is truly much ado about nothing

When I was in Europe, some places charged for bags, about $.05 each.
Maybe they should ban paper bags too, and make people buy cloth reusable bags instead. It'd be better for the environment, and great for economy.

they want to ban Plastic bags you can still use paper cloth or bio-degradable plastic bags and its up for vote not city law yet. And its for the bigger picture a cleaner planet every little bit helps.

No one's stopping you from carrying your groceries home. You will just have to use the bags they provide you with or bring your own.

I generally disagree with anything Sanfrancisco does, but I applaud them for this one. It's no more or less a restriction on freedom than the ban on DDT.

I definitly think that this war against terrorism has gone way too far and is continually taking our rights away from us. I do not think that it will stop until we start speaking up.
