I was just wondering what happend to the idea of prison as rehabilitation versus punishment.

Scenario #1: A person is at a party playing with a gun, they don't know its loaded. They point it at a friend as a joke and pull the trigger, it turns out to be loaded and they kill the friend. (BTW totally sober)

Scenario #2: A person is at a party with a gun, they DO know its loaded. They point it at a friend their finger slips and they kill the friend. (BTW totally sober)

Scenario #3: A person is at a party and they are drinking they are leaving the party and are driving a few friends home. On the way home they get into an accident that is totally their fault, everyone in the back seat of the car dies and the passenger is severely injured.

Simple Question do they all deserve to go to jail or is one of them more at fault than another?

I bought this months Fortean Times and on the front there is a picture of a nude lady with black rectangles over her bits and pieces. Inside the magazine the picture is uncensored. What is the point of this, when under 18's can buy the Fortean Times anyway?

my mother has stopped me from seeing my 4 year old son because she and I had gotten in a fight a month ago and this is her way of getting at me, I have done nothing to my son this is strictly between me and her. For the record they forced me to let them adopt him a couple of years ago. every since then i have done nothing but what they have asked and i feel like they are toying with me. they said if i get my life on track i can have him back . . .and i have, they are just finding any excuse to keep me out of his life and i don't understand why, now i want to take action. they spank him and lock him in his room, i am tired of them treating him like they did me!

Today, whilst running to work, I was taken short and had to have a poo at the side of the road. I'd seen Paula Radcliffe, Britons Olympic drop out, doing this during the London marathon, so believed it would be ok for me to do the same. How wrong could i be. I've spent the rest of the day in a police cell, and I’m due in court next week.

once again it seems the eurocratts have gone PC mad, with one rule for professional athletes and another for us. Am I the only one to be victimised in this way? Any one else been punished for something a celebrity would get away with, eh?

I mean, if Israel and some USA media clame that Lebanese parents are responsible for death of children, maybe not nazi, but Jewish parents were responsble for death of their children who were experminated in concentration camps? Children of not full age were sent to gas cameras first of all because they were bad labour force.

I find that such statements promote quite different views not only to the present, but also to past events.

Statements blaming civils appear also in my country (not USA) and are repeated in comments, even in yahoo answers: e.g. said by POPS at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ao_g6jjrvbf2v2xyDn2hvIrsy6IX?qid=20060804045757AAPQAf4 ("The blood of these children are on the hands of thier parents and the hezbollah cowards")

Is it OK for you? Is it not time to review penal codes and to write that victims are guilty first of all for provoking a crime, not people who committed i

So I was looking at some of the dumb laws that some states have or had. Like here in california it's illegal for woman to drive wearing a house coat. Whatever that is. What I wanna know is wether these laws have been taken out or have they been truncated by newer laws? What if it hasn't been removed or truncated, are we still held accountable for them?

you all have great advice. thank you so much! this has really been bothering me. even my other children are upset by it knowing what their sister is doing. Youre so right about taking her to Mexico. We do have a court order saying he cannot take her out of the US, and I know what he has done is illegal. I told him that. I told him I will have the cops there, and have them put my daughter on a plane. And I will take her to the Dr's. I know she has "gotten lost" with an 18 yr old while drunk, kissed a differnt boy while drunk, and who knows what else. This is heartwrenching:( She was still a virgin, I hope she still is. I wanna hurt that man. And WTF means what the *uck!! Thank you again, and please keep your answers coming. I'll put them all together and nail that irresponcible loser.

I feel I am being trapped there because I have tried to move out but everytime I apply for a rent application they turn me down because my jugdement still show NOT SATISFIED. I have asked the landlord to please file a satisfaction of judgement but she has been giving me the run around ever since. Along with raising the rent and leaving me with no air conditioning for 2 weeks in the middle of summer knowingly ignoring my phone calls about it after my first complaint to her over the phone. Plus the carport has collapsed from the storm as well as the front yard tree wasuprooted and there is moss growing in the walls from the roof collapsing in. I don't have the money to fix anything myself and I am not responsible for them either. My living situation has brought on a number of health problems for me the past 2 months so I have had to stay with a friend the days that I wasn't admitted and stayed in the hospital. I have a dog as well and need to move us asap.

My dad was required by FEMA to complete a test for some crisis management for work. He did and submitted the information. They sent him his certificate in the mail but some ****** at FEMA put his entire name along with his social security number on the outside of the envelope for everyone to see. I was outraged as was my father. I thought he should call FEMA or even the police. Any postal worker could have written that down. What should we do? My father feels that its too late.

government instituted killing can cost innocent lives. Why should governments kill people as they can not un-kill people when mistakes are made.
Death offers no chance for rehabilitation.
Where can there ever be a standard that decides pure evil acts that deserve execution.

This in regards to the war (full of lies and deceit) in Iraq and the idiotic and stupid amnesty of illegal immigrants! It shows the world how weak they really are and the deceit of falsifying intelligence to invade a country that they themselves created and have caused more harm that they can dig themselves out of! The non-compliance of their laws and what America was built on! To have one president cause so much harm to his country and bring it down to a pre WW2 level in world standing, not to mention the rebellion of his own party!
