Well-been there 5 months and I enjoy it. Doing well-but they want me to do better and are hiring more people...changes happening and I have a month to make some small changes so I can take on two more accounts -(currently have two) so it's gonna get tough....may lose job if I can't manage it-hopefully I can. But pregnancy is pretty tough. Don't know if I should tell em now or not? Anyone else been in this situation? What do you think is the best way forward...financially. Also these new employees are doing same job but are getting 5k more. Bit worried really.

Well, something is not right here. If thenew people are making more money, are they better qualified? If not, then the job is obviously not for you. You should tell within the next 2 months.
I don't know where you are, but most civilized countries have laws that a pregnant person cannot be fired.
Then work as long as you can and apply for Maternity leave. In most countries they have to keep your job open for you.

you can tell them whenever you want but you're best to leave it till your past 3 months as risks are high with pregnancy in the first 2-3 months and you dont want to tell them then lose the baby - it happens. they can not sack you because of pregancy that would be discrimination and you could sue them. it may be worth finding out about you maternity rights with that company though. usually you have to be employed for at least 6 months before getting pregnant before you can claim any maternity benefits.

Don't worry. You're actually in quite a strong position. I'm not an expert by any means but they can't just get rid of you, and if they did you could always sue them. As far as I'm aware they have to give you maternity leave, and they have to keep your job open should you wish to return to work. I'd tell them in good time though so there's no question of being underhand with them.

By law you are required to give notice at least 15 weeks before you are due, but it's wise to let them know in advance for you to plan your finances whilst you are away on maternity leave:

- How much is the maternity pay? Is it full, or a percentage of full pay, or just the statutory (approx £102 a week)? If it is full pay, or a percentage of full pay, how long would they maintain that percentage for before reverting to statutory pay?
- How long is the leave you are entitled to with what pay? This is related to the above. Are you entitled to additional maternity leave (up to 52 weeks)?

Telling them as soon as possible will also help you to plan your workload on the run up to going on leave. Remember, you will be off for a few months, and you may well be on leave a number of weeks before you are due (do you picture yourself working when you are heavily pregnant at 38 weeks?), so you need to do some planning so as to complete as much of your tasks as you can before that. Otherwise, you're going to be very stressed before you do take you leave, and that is not good for you or the baby.

A pregnancy is not something you can hide (obviously). And legally no-one can discriminate against you on the basis of you being pregnant. Tell them in plenty of time to allow you to plan for what you need to do and for your and your unborn baby's well being.

If youre counted a full time employee,
which it sounds like you are (3 months is usual period of time in UK)

then tell em whenever u want, THEY MUST keep your job position open to you for after your given leave.

(If your not considered FULLY EMPLOYED yet say, 6 months is their policy, wait till u are!!!! Else totally LEGAL to fire and no reason needs to be give)

oh, and Congrats!

tell them, if they sack you they'll get in too much trouble as its illegal to sack someone because they're pregnant. if you have any problems you will need time off with no notice so you'll have to tell them now really. as you were working there before you got pregnant, you're entitled to full maternity pay from the company and to return to work specifying the hours and days you want to work. dont worry, tellig them will make your life easier, one less thing to worry about.

It is illegal for them to discriminate in any way against you if you are pregnant, this was all over the news when I was expecting. Tell them as you need to sort out your maternity pay. If they act up, sue the buggers.

Don't tell them about the pregnancy, why would you.
Unless there is a company policy that you have to
or you are submitted to hazardous chemicals or something
keep the pregnancy secret as long as you can
