Don't say 'because they could be wrong'. Witnesses could be wrong. Evidence could be wrong. Lot's of things could be wrong. From what I've researched, polygraphs are as accurate as the person giving them.

In a way, jury members are lie detectors. How often is a jury required to figure out who is lying?

There has to be some other reason these are not allowed in court.

I own a few down and dirty properties and a couple of old cars and it seems from what I can tell it would be a good idea to get one of these umbrella policies. Liability and property type coverage of course but I was curious if anyone has had any good or bad or whatever kinds of experience they would be willing to share on this, that might be helpful in buying or shopping for this kind of insurance? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanx!

I asked this question on who would want to be the next President of the US given all the problem we had here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Au9rwVGx7pbbr9ET1vqPfK3sy6IX?qid=20060831171310AAM3U9D

for those who said that they would like to be President or those who would have said so, how do you think your term would have been like and how would you fix the problems I listed in my analogy of the nation as a corporation. This will probably require more than a one sentence answer.

My landlord has used old railroad ties as steps for as long as I have lived in this house. The one step is loose and rotten. She has been asked to repair it and never has. About three weeks ago, I fell and hit my left knee into the concrete slab at the bottom. I scraped it up and it ached for several days but I didn't think any more of it. Now it is throbbing when I put weight on it(to the point where I can hardly stand), I went to the doctor's and he ordered an MRI. He said that I have torn cartilage from that fall. I am going to need surgery not to mention that I can hardly bear weight on that leg. I have been off work for several days. I have a consult scheduled with an orthopedic surgeon on Monday. I have been told that recovery can be long and painful. I am a single mother with two children to raise and have no other source of income. Should I file a claim against her homeowner's insurance or be happy that I wasn't holding the baby when I fell?

In translation, it reads

"28. No constable or any other baliff shall take any man's corn or other chattels unless he pays cash for them at once or can delay payment With the agreement of the seller."

So how did that all go wrong? How is it that they are so careless of seized property? Wasn't the whole tradition about protecting your personal property from the simple greed of the King or his servants ?

I was convicted of a felony over 3 years ago, did 4 months in boot camp and have lived my life straight as an arrow since. I did everything the courts asked me to do to a "T" and have been in absolutely no trouble since nor do I ever plan on being in trouble again. I am just wondering if this mistake at the age of 18 is going to haunt me forever??

How many years after one has been convicted of a sex offense can the "title" of sex offender be wiped from his/her record in the state of Nevada?

I heard it was around 14 years, but I'm not sure. Can one appeal after a year, perhaps?

I paid my security deposit when I first moved into my apartment. Is it possible to forfeit my security deposit as my last month's rent? The reason I am doing this is that I do not trust my landlord and I do not want to have to go through some lengthy process to get my security deposit back. I am sure that law differs from one state to the next; so, if it helps, I live in New Jersey.

I am paying real property taxes on my late Father's estate and some guy has placed animals, farm equipment on the land without my permission. He states, someone in my family allowed him to put his equipment on the property. Is it in my right to take him small claims or a higher court.

Ok while I may not care for the KKK as long as his record shows no signs of discrimination then what is the problem with him being a trooper? He said it was a momentary thing due to his divorce. People stop overreacting! Bet there would be no problem with him joining PETA.

or should I say, the only country that thinks that it should be allowed to be different from the rest of the world? Why is that, I wonder? Does it say anything about the level of someone's ambition? The Monroe Doctrine was certainly only the beginning... Now we consider that it is not even necessary to be equal with everyone else, at least let the world as a whole be free of the wmd's.
Can't have it both ways can you, Mr. Bush, your majesty?

Ok, I know that sounds harsh...but I could care less. I'm not talking about every sex offender, but those who are completely guilty (perhaps w/ DNA evidence, or several charges). If the sex drive is taken away, it would greatly decrease the likelyhood of repeat offenses. The molested never truly get to have a "normal" sex life again. I'm just so sick of all the pervs out there, and I just wish the punishment fit the crime.
