Fish - June 2007

I have my fish in a 1/2 gallon tank....one fish No aeration or anything like that. I'm going away for 3 weeks. I already have the feeding covered, but will somebody need to change its water while I am gone?

I currently have 4 fish; 2 cherry barbs and 2 corydoras catfish. I have a ten gallon, heated tank. I would like to purchase a PAIR of fish but I want SOMETHING TOTALY DIFFERENT than most people want to purchase. I want something easy to take care of and easily pleased.

Could you please leave some information about the fish (compatibility, tank size and etc.) so I know how to take care of it? Thank you....I just want something easy and different!

3 serpae tetra
2 bolivian rams

Guy at petstore tell me that serpae will destroy an angelfishes fins. My serpae dont bother the other rams at all, they seem peaceful is he right? should i get angels anyway?
if not what other fish do you suggest?

I brought 2 oto Catfish. And 1 of them just disappears I was wondering Can corydorys, Female Betta, Neon tetra, phantom tetras, seprae tetra, platies, or african dwarf frogs eat Oto catfish. I have Look for it thur out the hole tank for the last 3 days. It's no where to be found. The other 1 is doing great and looks and seems very happy

He's a common orange goldfish. His gill covers are rolled upward and you can se inside. He's always at the top like he's gasping for air but I have an air pump and the other goldfish are fine.It's really irritated open and I don't know what to do?

Right now I have a 10 gallon tank with one male betta fish, heater, air pump, and filter. I also have 3 fake plants, a fake rock set-up, and some gravel. I would like to introduce some neon tetras and cory catfish because I've been reading that they would get along fine with my betta in it's aquarium. How exactly should I do this, I keep hearing run the water for a week, or 24 hours, Ive looked in the petshop at fish I want already and I want a underwater frog and some other community fish, and ive spoken to the shop own but what should i do, get the tank and keep it for a week with the water or 24 hours?

for 3-4 days. i have a betta. im thinking of getting a small vacation block that floats. im not gonna leqve him w/out food 4 a few days cuz i know that bettas can go about a week without food but this one cant. he's like a sea pig! lol. seriously though, when he misses a meal, he gets severly stressed and turns white like a ghost...........so the vacation food that floats is a good idea right?

I want to save a few colored glass fish(white skirt tetras) and get a few longfinned as well(only have the short finned!) can you advise me on how to take care of these? my friend (who gave me the aquarium) wanted to get some for me and couldnt because he didnt want them to die and me feel bad(i LOVE animals!!)so yea... but im willing to get them now and atleast try..any suggestions or compat. problems?

Well, I've removed my spotted green puffer.....He's taken a BIG chunk from 3 of my gouramis' bottom fins and eaten half of my flame gourami's tail!

Will they grow back? Or are they forever scarred?

he is a gold fish who she is very fond of as she can't have furry pets because of her allergies, but he has one of the stones from the bottom of the tank stuck in his mouth, is there any way i could get it out i know if it is not removed the poor thing will die as he won't be able to eat. any help pleeeeaaasssse. xxx

my clownfish hides behind the filter hose or the return feed of the protien skimmer while swimming on his side close to the water surfuce. when the lights are off he will swim around and seem more active. Ive had it in the tank for a few days now and always see clowns in other peoples tanks seem more active. is this normal or is domething wrong with him. He will also only eat if it is dark. what should i do ?

I have a 10 gallon tropical fish tank. Very strange things have happened in there and I don't understand why. For one...my snail gone! Ok one night I fed my fish and I saw my snail crawling on the wall. The next morning his shell was in the gravel and NO SNAIL INSIDE! Fish don't eat snails do they? And also I have this one really wierd fish. He's some kind of large cat fish. Black and white stripes. He always sits on my treasure chest decoration. NEVER MOVES AT ALL! I always think hes dead so I get the net to get him out and he starts swiming and 5 secs later back on the chest. What is up with that? And the other day he was just gone! And the last mystery is I found one of my fish on my floor one morning as if he jumped out. The thing is though there's a top on my tank. Got any explanations? This is really starting to freak me out!
