The best thing to do honestly is not buy themand ask the shop to get some that have not been dyed. I completely understand your desire to help the fish live a better life, but really the damage has been done and if you buy them it only creates more demand and more will be treated that way. Also, about 40% of these injected fish carry a virus that can not be cured and will cause large ugly bumps on them from time to time for the rest of their lives. It's called Lymphocystis and we don't know how it's transmitted from one fish to the next, so you are possibly risking your entire tank.

Also, the dye causes damage to the fish that will shorten it's life no matter how well you care for it.

Please don't encourage additional dying of fish by trying to save these. Ask your shop to no longer carry them, explain why it's a bad practice and ask them to get some that have not been dyed.

glass fish and skirted tetras are two different fish. they are best kept in groups -- i think they are all the same fish -- white, black, long finned -- so they should shoal together. the artificially colored ones could have all kinds of problems and it really is best to buy healthy fish.

they are pretty easy to take care of. i don't think they have any special needs -- just get them skirt tetra friends.

glass fish are harder to keep even without the dyes. i would stick with the skirted tetras.

If you loved animals, you wouldn't purchase painted glass fish. Don't help perpetuate the torture and sale of these fish...
