Many fish will eat a variety of fruits and vegis. Goldfish and many of the African cichlids love and need the majority of their diet composed of plant material. Lettus (Romain not iceburg) is nutritional and is very easy to clean up after in an aquarium setting. Its also cheep and readily available at all times of year.
Other fruits and vegies that are great for fish are oranges, grapefruit, squash, cucumber, peas (careful, peas can act as a laxative for fish), carrots, and spinach (raw)
Good question.

Yes, some fish do eat lettuce. Goldfish enjoy Romaine lettuce. I throw a couple of leaves in my pond occasionally for a nice treat. Koi will also eat lettuce, watermelon and various other fruits and veggies..

Some do, but regular iceburg lettuce isn't the best choice. Go for leafy veggies most ly with added beans, peas and things like squash, cucumber and the like.
I would suggest avoiding fruits for the vast majority of fish as sugars are's really good for most fish and the various vitamins available from fruit are available from other vegetables as well.
For meat eating fish, stick with insects or other fish type products such as fish fillets, shrimp, clams etc... coldblooded animals, not warm blooded animals like chicken, beef, pork etc.

Vegetables - Herbivore and omnivore fish will appreciate hand-chopped fresh vegetables. They prefer potatoes, peas, spinach, lettuce, chard, and zucchini.
Feeding Tip: Chop the vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Remove uneaten pieces promptly. During meal time, try planting lettuce leaves as a special feast for your herbivores.
Molly - Algae, vegetables. Will also accept insects and flakes.
Farowella - Vegetable tablets and algae.
Pacu - Fresh vegetables, vegetable flakes and fruits, Small fishes.
Silver Dollar - Feed fresh vegetables, vegetable flakes.
Tropheus - Acccepts algae, plants, spirulina, vegetable flakes.

romaine and spinach, i think some can eat peas, zucchini is good too. spinrulina is better (available at pet shops) for saltwater fish nori (oriental food) or pet shop dried algae sheets. iceburg letuce is mostly water, very low in nutrition

My goldfish don't like lettuce but they like green peas. I fed my goldies mangos once and they liked it. They like the watermelon I gave them too.
