I have my fish in a 1/2 gallon tank....one fish No aeration or anything like that. I'm going away for 3 weeks. I already have the feeding covered, but will somebody need to change its water while I am gone?

In a tank that small, the water should be changed (minimum)every 2 days. Your fish poops in there...how often do you poop in the toilet and not flush? Make up (treat) several gallons of water for who ever is taking care of you pet for you, and have the change about 1/2 the water daily. This will keep the ammonia from building up in the tank.

Good Luck with your Betta, and have a safe trip!

Yes. In a 1/2 gallon bowl, the water should be partially changed at least every other day.

By the way, I considered telling you to get a 5 gallon as well. My only concern is that if you just put your betta in the 5 gallon and then leave it for 3 weeks, it's going to cycle during that time, and that could be hard on your fish. Even with the 5 you should probably have someone do a partial water change and test the water regularly, at least until it stabilizes.

You Should have a few partial water changes. The person feeding the fish could easily do this for you. If they don't want to you can keep your fingers crossed. My 12 year old daughter often forgets to change her water and for some reason her beta's haven't died.
Good luck

Yes you will have to get someone to do water changes. With that size of a tank I would say to change it every other day. Ae you having someone to come over to feed it? Please do not use the Vacation food. Those things are made mostly of plaster and are not good for a fish.

Yes, you really are going to have to get the water changed or the fish will not live because the water isn't clean which will result in high ammonia thus killing your fish.
