happy enough swimming about but its stomach has swollen so big its pushing the scales open a little bit, is it just fat or sick.

It's sick, very sick. When scales stand out that is a sign of an internal infection causing bloating. The term for this condition is dropsy and left untreated it is almost 100% fatal. You need to start your fish on antibiotics and antibiotic fish food as soon as possible. I would recommend Furanace or Furan-2 as the best choices for antibiotics for an internal infection or if you have a friendly vet that will help, get Cipro. If none of these are available, Maracyn TC would be my next choice, but be sure you are also feeding the medicated food which is available at any decent pet store.

It probaly has air built up in it, but what you need to do is get 2-3 peas any kind will work and feed them to him over a 2 day period a maximum of two a day

Tank size? Filter? How many goldfish do you have? How often do you actually change the water? And anything else that would be important as we need more info to help..

I totally agree with magic man on this one. Read the first site and treat this immediately. Then read the second site to know how to properly care for your goldfish so this doesn't happen again.

Its sick, It has swim bladder infection which left untreated is fatal and will infect all your other fish get a treatment from your local pet store you jst add it to your fish tank

it migh be pregnant
it might be too fat stop feeding it so much
give him 2-3 flakes a day until he gets better than give him3-5 flakes

I ve never heard of a fat fish...I think u need to take it to a vet...cos it sounds sick...yeeeessshhh

might need to take to pet shop and see what is wrong, very seldom do they get pregnant in tanks but it could of done just that.
