My tank is cloudy, I stripped it down yesterday and washed it and put the fish back in, I heard it was a bacteria bloom or somthing, Is this harmful to my fish and will they die?

I've been doing a lot of reading in the past few hours about cycling, and it's a lot of info to learn... so i have some questions:

during the cycle when my nitrite levels spike should i change some (10-15%) of the water or just let it run its course?

If i use biospira (which, at this point seems easier) will it get all the nitrate, nitrite and ammonia levels ok for me to add the fish and not have to do any other maintenance other than regularly check and change the water?

1. I am building a large pond. 24 foot long by 15 feet wide by 4 feet deep. It is 3/4 full of water. I am placing water plants etc. How long do I need to wait before being able to add fish. Or do I need to go ahead and add chlorine remover?

2. What is the best method to hide the edges of the liner? Without getting alot of dirt in the pond.

i have 8 angel fish because they had babies and they live in a 29 gallon tank and are doing fabulously. i have my young parrot fish in my 12 gallon and she isnt doing so great. she is healthy but she just seems unhappy. 3 of my angel fish are pretty old (4-6 years). What is an angelfishes lifespan? and 4 of them are about 2 years old. i was planning on moving my 4 angelfish(the young ones)into my 12 gallon when my older angels die. then i would move My parrot fish into the 29 gallon. i guess my question is how many angelfish will fit in a 12 gallon eclips.

I am planning on getting a bigger fish tank, 15 to 20+ gallons, depending on what I can fit into a certain spot in my living room... and I wanted to know what some beautiful fish would be to keep in it.
I love the beauty of salt water fish, but a freshwater tank would be easier to maintain...I have the time and COULD keep a salt water tank up, but what is the point in making extra daily chores and expence?

The spot I'm trying to fill is: 26w x 26l x 20d, maby I need a bigger tank (havent gone to petstore yet (i live out of town) if you have any suggestions on this they'd be appreciated also!

55gal fish only(with live rock) tank. Established Dec/06. Water chem tests all negative including phosphate. PH 8.0-8.1. Temp 78. Fluval 403, protien skimmer, u/v ster. All other fish healthy. Noticed butterfly (which is normally white with black stripes and some yellow) had her white areas turning grey/dark. Today she appears to be dying (labored breathing, at bottom of tank). I am quarantining her now but wonder if anyone knows what, if anything, I should treat for? (fyi: we feed marine pellet, mysis shrimp and live brine..pellet mornings, shrimp evenings). Again, water chemistry tests perfect.. help?

I have 5 goldfish. 2 normal ones 2 schbumkins and a fantail. My tank is 2 foot, 72 litres. Every time i get new fish they die. I put tonic salts in and Water Safe but they still keep dying.

I went to the pet shop this morning and hes told me to put Water Safe and 2 teaspoons of normal house table salt in and that should work.

Anyone else have any ideas as i really don't want to lose anymore fish. Thanks

I was thinking of getting a 10 gallon guppy tank. It would only house males, I have a heater that would keep the water between 76-78F, a 10 gallon filter, and some live aquarium plants. How many male guppies could I keep in there with out overstocking the tank? I would also like to have some ghost shrimp in there too, so how many could I keep in there? This would be after I cycled it of course, and I would only add a few fish/shrimp at a time over a period of a month probably. In this tank set up, would ghost shrimp make much of a bio load difference?
Thanks in Advance!!!

I cleaned my tank last Tuesday, 50% water change, and gave it a good vacuum and scraped the algae off.... but I already have some algae showing on the glass - only a week later! Is this normal? The fish are all hanging around the top of the tank as well... I have fake plants and only 5 danios and 3 mollies.... what's going on?

i want to keep live plants in one of my tanks but im not sure that the medium sized pebbles i have in it are a good "soil" for them to take root in, should i add something finer to it? does it hurt them to pull them up when cleaning the tank then replant them?

it is a ten gallon all glass tank, with decor (pebbles, 1 light rock, 3 plastic plants), inhabitants (6 small fish), outer additives (filter, lid, light, heater), and full of water

would the approximate weight be less than 95 pounds? more than 95 pounds? or about 95 pounds?

I've been told that a one gallon tank weighs 8.3 pounds however I'm not sure how true that is

I'd like to hear answers from people who have/have had ten gallon tanks OR who are pro/amateur "fish-tankers"

thanks!
