Does adding a aqua mist bar at the back of my aquarium cause any problems? Do I leave it on constantly - overnight?

No problem. And leave it on constantly. The only change should be increased evaporation, and required increase in the volume of water changes.

Leave it on all the time, it raises the oxygen level in the water, which helps the fish. It also helps keep the water moving, making the pump and filter more effective.

Our mollys and platys also liked to play in the bubbles -- some would jump into the bubble screen, ride it up, and swim down for another ride.

The noise is minimal (less than the pump)

As PW stated it could possiably add to the evaporation but really that is the only problem.

DO NOT look for the mist bar to add dissolved oxygen to the tank, it is for show only as are all air stones.

Dissolved oxygen only enters the water via air movement against water, ie waves, wind, fountains, waterfalls filters.

The bubble walls look cool and can hide equipment behind them but really do little to nothing as far as adding air.

Run it when you want or when you are watching the tank, or feel free to leave it on all the time. Either way no problems.

They are awesome. Leave it running all the time. Good water circulator and makes much more surface area for oxygen exchange. Good choice friend.
