i have 2 male fish. a red platy and a swordtail platy. Now the sword tail platy swims backwards at the male red platy and once he gets swimming under the male red tail he takes his anal fin and starts to poke the other male.. HELP WHAT CAN I DO

Any animal species can be gay, not excluding fish.Think about it, nearly 75 percent of male elephants are homosexual.
But also know that the little activity you witnessed does not signify a gay relationship of the fish.Though involving the anal fin, fish flirt in a way differently from humans and primates.They tend to show off their brilliant finnage and even so, it may be a challenge rather than a sign.
So what you behold may not be the truth and even if it is, can you handle the truth?

Well, yes, sort of. There are chemicals that cause male members of the carp familly to take on the sexual habits of females. My uncle was doing research on it a few years ago. Anyway, I doubt your fish are gay, but just in case, make sure they use only the cleanest water. You never know.

I don't know if I would call it gay exactly, but that happens all the time. I have seen various cichlid females lay eggs together many times with one acting like a male but laying eggs instead of performing the males true roll. Is that gay, confused, desperate or stupid? you decide.

yes, most fish can show homosexual traits if there are no females available. this isn't really a problem and certainly doens't mean you need to get them females. as long as their not hurting each other I wouldn't worry aobut it. there's nothing you can do unless you seperate them or buy females.
if you plan on gettin them females make sure your tank is able t handle two more fish and that you are prepared to deal with it if they do reproduce.
