I don't know what to do. I have searched on the web but I cannot find any good answers. I had a fish a few months back which died from the same problem my fish I have now is going through. He sits at the bottom, on his side, doesn't move unless I get near the tank. It all started when I saw that he was getting fat. (which I know is really bad for a fish)
I searched on the web for answer to it and they said that it could be due to overfeeding. So I stopped feeding him for a few days till I noticed he was laying on his side on the bottom of the tank.

I have now put him into a tank with multi-cure in hopes it might help as I don't know what else to do. Can someone please help me? I really don't want to lose my last fish T_T

P.S. I saw something somewhere about giving him peas to eat to help. They said to give him English Peas. I live in Australia and have no idea what an english pea is or where to get one O.o

So, in preparation to put my new driftwood in my tank, I took out a large hollow root decoration. I knew my raph was in the log, and I hadn't seen him in almost two weeks, so I took the ornament out of the main tank, and put it into a large stockpot filled w/ tank water. I could see where raph was at in the log, so I tried all my tricks to get him out: bloodworms, a little cold water, and a qtip, and none of these things got him out. This is pretty unusual for him, so I got worried, and started busting off pieces of the ornament with vice grips ( carefully and far away from him, of course. Finally, I got it all busted except the part he was in, and realized he was stuck. I tried to pull, tried to push him out backwards, and he just wasnt moving, he had lost a lot of weight, and he was stuck. I put a paper towel in next to his body, and my husband broke off piece by piece w/ his hand until raph slid out. He looked pretty lifeless @first, but perked back up pretty quickly and ate

I have a 5 gallon tank and was wondering what kind of fish would go good with it. I would like to have 2 or more fish in the tank that are very comfortable. My fancy tailed goldfish just died of a fungus infection and I would like to also know how to also clean the tank, like what do I do with the gravel and fake plants?

What is the difference in maintaining a freshwater tank and a saltwater tank? I currently have a freshwater 20 gallon tank and in 4 months I am buying a 90 gallon tank. Right now I enjoy taking care of it, and I'm considering switching to saltwater when I get the 90 gallon. I hear from some people its A LOT more work than freshwater and then i also hear its not at all. Someone please help me make a decision! =)

I have a ten gallon freshwater fish tank with:

2 male, 1 female Silver Mollies & fry (about 40-50 fry, two generations combined),
1 male 1 female Guppy,
2 Neon Tetras (others have died off),
1 Plecostumus (I can't spell that) Algae Eater,
and
1 male 1 female SICK Platies.

Yes, I know it's packed! I DO NOT have a sick/hospital tank.

Here's my main Question: I need to know what you would recomend to treat my two sick Platies. They have Dropsy or Fish Bloat and look pitiful! They seem lifeless an scared. I started using a product called Prima Fix.

On the cover it says:
All Natural Prima Fix
Antifungal Remedy for Freshwater and Saltwater Aquarium fish.
Rapidly Treats fungal infections on body and fins
Also treats internal and external bacteria infections.

Should I keep using this product, or get something specificly for Dropsy? What would u use?
HELP!
P.S. Keep in mind that my only outlets are Walmart, Meijers,
and a small petstore. Don't recomend rare items!

For a betta, I'm keeping 1 male. I have over 500 bucks. Think I should get a total cost of 450 around for a fish tank for a betta, 16 galloner, or think betta will be scared with all the space and should get a smaller tank. Thanks!

P.S. If you think I'm wacko for me asking this question, you MAY call me a fool.

Hello, my oscar has had this problem for some time, recently it has become worse. Just took the pictures today. It shares the tank with a small ciclid that runs scared most of the time, and is not aggressive toward the Oscar, and there is a Pleco, any help is appreciated. I bought some all natural antibiotic today. Just not sure what could have lasted this long (months)? Picture here: http://www.firstdeaf.org/fish

This is is something that I thought up a few seconds ago, because I was bored. How do places like Walmart and Petco get the fish that they sell?Do they catch them?Do they hatch them, and if so do they catch the fish that lay the eggs?

My other question is have your fish ever played tag?2 of my fish play tag with each other.....they run around in circles till they tag the other fish, then, the other fish tries 2 tag the other fish.

I have a tropical fish that is acting really funny. When I turn on the lights or feed it, it does flips and circles in the water. Other than that, it seems to be normal. At one point it was floating on the top. I thought it was dead but when I went in with my net, it started "flipping out" and began to swim normal again. I just cleaned the tank and the temp/ph etc all seem fine. All of the other fish including 2 just like it are fine as well. It doesn't have spots or anything. Any idea whats wrong with my fish????

i just bought two black skirted tetras. one is bigger(slighlty) than the other one. my smaller one follows the bigger one around, and he (the bigger one) doesnt seem to like it. within hours of putting them in their new tank, the bigger one bit the little one on teh dorsel fin. and i just went to check on them, and he has bitten the little one again. i've heard i need to buy more to keep him from bitting. is there another way to keep him from bitting?

I presently have the twin bio-wheel Penguin 350 attached to the right side of the tank. Although it is rated for up to 75 gallons, only half of the aquarium is being worked on. I feel that having two Penguin 200's (one for each half) would allow more even filtration. Is my 350 good enough for the whole tank?

I jus recently bought a large piece of live rock for my saltwater tank. The tank is about 4 months old and all that is in it is two chromis. I have been having a bad algae problem and the lady at petco said I could stir the coral up to get the algae supsended and the filter would take care of it. After I did that I checked on it about 4 hours later and the coral was clean as can be, but all that algae seemed to cling to the live rock, turning it completely brown! Will the live rock be okay? Will it kill the algae, or vice versa? Or neither? What can I do to get rid of the problem? Thank you for your help.

i have had 2 dragon fish and they have all died. i feed my tank flakes, sinking pellets for catfish with krill in it, frozen blood worms, frozen krill. And still it seems as though they are starving them selves. I have read that they are a brackish water fish which i could put it in my brackish tank with my puffers if that is correct?

What am i doing wrong because i would like to have one in my tank.
