Has anyone any idea what might be causing this and how we can help him please. Thanx

General bloating could be a few things. It may have overeaten, or eaten some pelleted food that wasn't soaked and swelled up. It could also have an internal bacterial infection or parasites.

I'd say for a first treatment, just fast him for a few days to see if this improves on its own. If not, add a bit of salt to the water - something without iodine or anti-caking ingredients in it (canning, pickling, kosher, aquarium, coarse, epsom) at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water for any but the Epsom salt - this should be mixed as 1/8 tsp per 5 gallons. If you still don't see any improvement, try a broad spectrum antibiotic like Maracyn 2 or tetracycline.
