Goldfish are one of the fish that live the longest. As far as aquarium fish go. Properly cared for they can easily live for 20 years or more.

Carp (Koi), but they are very expensive. They can live 30-40 years, and some have been known to live up to 200 years.

The much cheaper cousin to the Koi, the Goldfish can last up to 20 years in optimal conditions (the record is 49 years.)

I had a goldfish named Methuselah for 7 years until I sneezed into his bowl.
