I don't know what to do. I have searched on the web but I cannot find any good answers. I had a fish a few months back which died from the same problem my fish I have now is going through. He sits at the bottom, on his side, doesn't move unless I get near the tank. It all started when I saw that he was getting fat. (which I know is really bad for a fish)
I searched on the web for answer to it and they said that it could be due to overfeeding. So I stopped feeding him for a few days till I noticed he was laying on his side on the bottom of the tank.

I have now put him into a tank with multi-cure in hopes it might help as I don't know what else to do. Can someone please help me? I really don't want to lose my last fish T_T

P.S. I saw something somewhere about giving him peas to eat to help. They said to give him English Peas. I live in Australia and have no idea what an english pea is or where to get one O.o

OK, we can rule out over feeding or constipation and that's what the peas would help. English peas are also known as fresh peas and (incorrectly) as sugar peas. Just so you know for the future this is English peas:

Now, for your fish. When he swims does he swim normally? Like when you come up to the tank can he stay up right in the tank? If so, it's not a swim bladder infection and we need to look in other directions to find the answer.

If he can't swim properly and if fasting him for a few days didn't help, I would be rather sure he has a bacterial bladder infection. This you need to treat with a good antibiotic like Furanace. That's a brand name here in the states for the generic medicine Nifurpirinol. It's readily available here in pet shops, but not for human use. I would suggest this treatment if the above stuff is true.

If he can swim normally, then you need to provide a little more information about the tank and the fish. Temperature, water quality, tank mates, any discoloration on the fish... any other details you can think of. Then hopefully we can help. Feel free to email me with those details and I'll be glad to try to help.

It problably is over-feeding! but to just stop giving him food wont help! start feeding him smaller amounts! and cleaning the tank every day!

you can test the aquarium water to see if it is right. Surgery could be expensive if the doctor needs to wear a scuba outfit. i would have him drink lots of water and vitamin B tablets two times a day to start. i hope this helps
