I have a 5 gallon tank and was wondering what kind of fish would go good with it. I would like to have 2 or more fish in the tank that are very comfortable. My fancy tailed goldfish just died of a fungus infection and I would like to also know how to also clean the tank, like what do I do with the gravel and fake plants?

You shouldn't have to worry about cleaning the tank, just do a really big water change (like most of it) and make sure to clean the gravel as you go. That will be enough to take care of the problem.

Heres a link to an article I wrote about keeping small aquariums and some fish choices. Hope it helps

Unfortunately, you're very limited when it comes to small tanks. The best bet is to keep a few small fish The general rule of thumb is to have at least one gallon for each inch of thin-bodied fish.

Every tank needs periodic water changes, usually larger tanks have a suction hose that draws water out while "vaccuming" the gravel, but in your small tank you can probably get away with pulling water out with a plastic cup. Drain about 10% each week and replace it (plus any that has evaporated) with dechlorinated water. This is important, as most tap water contains chlorine which is detrimental to your fishes gills.

My suggestion for an excellent fish for small tanks is the White Cloud Mountain Minnow, a beautiful easy small fish that you can begin with.

Please take the time to do some research before you begin keeping fish, the sources are out there on the 'net, take advantage of them!

I would go with a little school of tetras - I have some neons - they are fun - u can probley go with 4-5 in a 5 gallon tank but no more. Just make sure the water is good and keep up with regular partial water changes

Not much. I'd suggest a small school of White Cloud Mountain Minnows, about 4.

You could get some glow lite or neon tetras.
