Given the recent history of the Stingray, I think they are tired of being labeled a "docile" animal. I believe they have it out for humans.

I did the weekly water change yesterday. The PH, Nitrate, Nitrate 03 and Ammonia were all as they should be before I did the water change and now after the water change only the PH is as it should. Although the rest are only just out my fish are looking very letargic. Would using bottled water as opposed to tap water help the situation in future, or should I not change the water if everything is fine.

my betta hadnt had much energy since i bred him last time, which was about 3 weeks ago. he is in an indivisual jar and i check on him every day and he's been fine but just really low in energy. ive had him for a long time and hes always been fine. today when i checked him just now, he is hiding himself in the bushes and he has fungus all over him body and there are lots of white spots. what should i do? what kind of disease is it and how can i treat it? and if he dies, then how can i remove germs and fungus from the tank? PLEASE HELP!!!

I have black hairy looking fibers growing on a plant in one tank. I suspect it may be either bacteria or fungus. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Like I said before ina another quaetion. I have a female Betta,, [Chinese Fighting Fish to be exact] and well.. I have her in a pretty small bowl.. wiht not much in it.. I knwo thats sort of bad so I want ot get her as comfortable as I can. The bowl is.. well. a circle shape [hense the word 'bowl'] it is about 24v inches [around] and I can get a new bowl.. but it can't be too much bigger than that.. it could be in the shape of a square too.. doesnt matter.. but it cant be too big!

Anyway.. sorry for just blabbing on and on.. ill get to the point..
I was wondering manly.. what kind of stuff I should put in her bowl? what type of plants do Chinese Fighting fish like?
i already have some little pebbles.. shouldi keep those in there.. shouldi get actual little stones instead of just tank pebbles? or what..

please give the exact name of the stuff so its easier to find at the pet store.. so any kind of stuff that female bettas like is good.. thank you!!

okay.. so i have a female Chinese Fighting Fish [beta] for a couple weeks.. and now i want to get another one..
but a male..I'm not stupid.. i know they can't go in to the same tank -immediatley- but they can over time of getting used ot eachother.. so i was wondering if this would work:

okay. when i get the fish it comes in a little container of water already.. so i was wondering if i could just keep my new male in the contairner floating in the bowl wiht my female to get this used ot being together.. and well. if she starts like bumping against the container or attacking it than i would take him outt. but.. would this work??

jsut having him in there in a seperate [little] container to get used to eachother's company??

thanks for the helpp/

I have had my beta for three years now, living in the same tank which I clean regularly. I have fed him the same food throughout all this time. For three years he has been healthy and happy. Recently he has had gas, which causes him to float to the surface. Also when he goes to eat the pellets i lay on the surface, he misses, them. It is kind of like his depth perception is off. I don't know what to do about it. Has this happened to anyone else's beta? Please help and offer any advice on saving Leo!

My dad absolutely ADORES his salt water fish tank! I want to get him a Christmas gift related to tropical fish or reefs or something like that. I wouldn't dare get him anything to put into his ecosystem because it's super fragile and I probably wouldn't get the right thing.

However, he really seems to enjoy watching specials on the Discovery Channel about tropical fish and barrier reefs and so on. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a DVD about something relating to this, or any other gift ideas you think would be good.

I brought my Koi inside the garage because the outside pond is only two feet deep. In Michigan, it will freeze solid. I heated it last year, but that was very expensive. I know the fish go into a dorment state in the winter, and only nibble on algea. BUT, the problem is, in this new tank there is no alge. I have been feeding them a minute amount. What I really want to know, is there some vegation I could substitute for the algea. Thanks for you reply.
