I remember when we had about 8 fish in the tank. Then they all except 2 died out within a month. We cleaned the tank regularly, they were feed properly, and it was not crowded (We only had 4 fish in a 15 gallon tank at a time). Now we have 4 fish and none of them have died.

I know someone who has three maybe five inch long turtles and a couple of very large, 8 inch sucker fish. They keep them in a five gallon aqaurium and I think it is cruel, the fish can't swim anywhere and the turtles are always biting off peices of their fins. It is really sick. I have thought about stealing them but it is my neighbor and they would see me.

is it okay if i let my fantail stay in its one gallon tank (it looks like it has A LOT of space) for a now until it gets bigger like the size of an oranda? and even though, will it grow much slower but will survive for a long time if i keep it healthy because it has plenty of space but not a lot of space that it can swim so fast from one end to another?

I hav one and its a little one. it has plenty of space in its 1 gallon tank so far. is that okay? and is it okay to not hav an air pump if ur fish has a lot of space in its tank? and why do people say that it will die soon even though i had it for a while without a filter and no air pump? 2 of my room mates have some betta fish and i thought they were pretty cool so i got one too. But theyre fish just kind of swim around all slow and boring and mine will go from that to out of no where going crazy and swimming all over the tank. One of my roomates said she thinks it has epilepsy and the other said its taking advantage of his new found freedom. Niether of them i dont think know what theyre talking about. I thought he might just se his reflection in the side iof his tank, but he doesnt flare up he just got crazy and looks kamikaze. Also, when i try and feed it a little food pellett it wont eat it. the food will just sink to the bottom of the tank. He hasnt eaten sisnce i got him. is there a way to get him to eat? i dont want him to starve to death :S

any info on these little guys would be much appreciated, thank ya!

I'd like to, someday, have a salt-water aquarium with a variety of fish and other sea life. Could a live lobster, like from the meat counter at the store, be successfully kept in there just like other salt-water critters?

I was planning on buying an angelfish and a thirty gallon tank. I have never kept one before and so I need help. How hardy are they if you get them when they are dime-sized? Any other special requirements? How do I take care of one? I really need help.

Thanks

The other fish in the aquarium are black skirt tetras, platties, and guppies, so I do not think he was eaten. He is not stuck in the strainer for the filter, and I looked under my aquarium decorations. It's a mystery.

if number 3 goes near 1 number 2 goes for it and pushes it and I dont know whats going on - please help. Fish one has ballooned up, fish 2 is a big fish anyway and fish 3 is smallish. Most of the time fish 2 just swims up and down the tank all day long unless 3 goes near 1 then it flips and chases it away and pushes it into the walls and caves around the tank

I have never bred any egg-layers before (usually i have bred livebearers) but i decided to try this. I have already started and i was just wondering if the female fish's stomach gets big when it gets full of eggs. Or maybe a males stomach gets big for some reason? Any other advice is welcome.

Just wondering.

We recently got a bunch of supposedly tropical fish from a breeder. Most of them seem to be some sort of goldfish. Orange with a little black, but a few of them are black with white speckles or red with a few black blotches..
