Ok, yesterday, i bought one of those yellow mollies which is pregnant and is about to blow. In a separate tank with a filter and heater, I have 13 baby guppies. And in my big community tank i have 1 pregnant guppy and black molly...I love breeding them and seeing the babies grow. I have a 97 liter tank (about 20 gallons) and i am willing to keep some of the guppy, molly, and yellow molly babies. If a lot will survive, what could i do with them cause i can't have like 30 babies! I dont really like giving them to petstores and none of my friends have an aquarium...what should i do with them?...i guess maybe i should put them in a GOOD petstore which actually takes care of their fish? should i? what do you think?

I just got a couple of livebearer fish yesterday and aimmediately put what looks like a very pregnant female in a breeding net. This morning...still no signs of babies. She is a livebearer, bright yellow, and looks like a big molly...what is this type of livebearer fish called? How long should i leave her in the breeding net because i don't want to stress her out? (the net is pretty big) and also, i dont see a very visible gravid spot on her but she is, on the other hand, eXtremely fat and was the fatest out all the fish in that aquarium i chose her from....so she is pregnant right?
ThanX

It really is pointless catching fish for fun not food.

Soooo.. yesterday my boss gives me this amazing little thing. It's a 2.5 gallon "salt water" ready fish tank!
The thing comes with all the necessary things and I think it's adorable. I have a fish tank, but have never done salt before. I realize it probably isn't advisable to put actual fish into this tank, but what about live rock/shrimp/other invertebraes.. what do you guys think?

My oscar was going nuts this morning when i got up, he was flipping out of the water, digging into the stones, swimming upside down, going ehadfirst into the pebbles in a corner and staying there, and then eventually after looking like he was on drugs for 5 mins he sat at the back of the tank on his side. I thought he was going to die, when i looked at him 2 hours later i fed him and he was normal again, except for the scratches he had given himself by throwing himself around the tank. Strange? is he sick?

I just set up my second freshwater tank (38 gallon), and went to do a water check. They said that the ammonia level was too high, and the water is a little hard. They recommended a liquid chemical to be used. I was wondering, since the tank has only been set up for about a week, with about 10 starter gold fish added, should I just wait a bit longer for the cycle to be completely going and do another water check? I heard it takes about 3 weeks for the cycle to get completely going? Thanks!

What would you place in a 55 gallon fresh water tank if you wanted the most colorful fish and best mix of semi-aggressive and/or aggressive fish . . I would like fish that would grow to be no more than 3 inches. According to the rule of thumb, 2 gallons of water per each inch of fish .. this would give me room for a total of about 8 or 9 three inch fish. So, based on 2 to 3 fish of each kind (3 or 4 different kind/group of fish). I would like colorful, pretty, and/or striped fish. Semi aggressive to aggressive mix (if you can mix the two ? ) Thank you for your recommendations. :)

I have just bought 2 fish and I was wondering what to call them. They are Red Oranda (Fantails). One is Orange with white tips and the other is Orange with Black markings. I was thinking about Piwee for the black one. What do you think?

I saw in a franchised shop outside York last week a notice by a Black Ghost Knifefish saying they max'ed out at 20cm (8"). Mine's at 36cm (14") at the moment, and still growing!

So what is the worst/most misleading description of a Fish in an AQUARIUM STORE you've seen?
