You know the stuff that you feedyour fish as a treat.

Where does it come from and what is the nutritional value of them.

Also, why do we feed them to the fish when they are alive?

like, no need for a tank, a filter, you know, fish that doesn't need any specific needs and can live in a fish bowl. (I know some betas can, but mine only live up to a year) If no fish can live like that, then what is the easiest fish to take care of?

He'll just, sleep on the bottom of the bowl. i DON'T WANT HIM TO DIE THOUGH!!!I'v had him or a year though. My past beta fish, was like that before he died. Does this mean my beta is going to die?! PLEASE HELP!!!! oh, and in case you are going to write, "Well they usually live for 1 year," they don't really. My sister had a fish and it lived for 3 YEARS!!!

I noticed one of my large (6 1/2") common goldfish not eating and sortof just hangin around near the top, not floating. It looks like he is bloated. Is he sick? or just fat and lazy? He is in a 55 gl with goldfish and koi friends. When I bought him he was a scrawny 3/4 of an inch feeder fish, that my oscar would not eat, he kept him as a friend.

And don't say "Creamsicle." It's a boy, okay. Do something funny.
And by the way give me some other fish names, too.

*deep deep sigh* My landlord has a beautiful 50g tank. I would love to have it. Unfortunantly, they also have 99 platies in it!!! Some about 3" long. I'm not counting all the fry they have. Plus they have a 6" pleco in the tank.

I looked in her tank and pointed out which fish had ich, fin rot, popeye, growths, etc. and it all made me very sad. I also told her why her fish had such diseases. She shrugged it off and later laughed at me for wasting my 45g on 3 goldies (I really want a bigger tank for them!).

Now, I fully believe that in order to be able to buy fish, you have to go to a store that has a vet or at least fish expert and you have to take a test that states that you are fully (or at least pretty darn close) knowledgable about the fish in which you want to purchase.

Who is with me?

And what size tank do you have/did you have them in?

I'm really interested in seeing the answers I get. And feel free to comment on your fellow poster's answers, as well.

There are some fish that don't get along with others, and I am wondering if it's possible to train them to tolerate the others. From my own experience, I have an algae eater that loved to chase the other fish and bother them, especially the Dalmation Molly. Every time I saw this occur, I would tap on the glass and get him to stop. He doesn't really bother them anymore, and if he does, it's very rare. Am I imagining that I trained him, or is this possible? I was thinking that in the future (I will be getting another tank soon) I could use this to train other fish to get along as well. Any feedback?

Its abut 6 ft deep, and there are shallow parts that could completely freeze during a hard ice storm. any attracitive fish you could think of that would survive a harsh winter. how about if i break up the ice as often as it freezes?

It might not be blood, but that's what it looks like. He's still eating and otherwise not acting too strangely, but I'm concerned. Does anybody with experience with goldfish know if there's anything I can do?
