I noticed one of my large (6 1/2") common goldfish not eating and sortof just hangin around near the top, not floating. It looks like he is bloated. Is he sick? or just fat and lazy? He is in a 55 gl with goldfish and koi friends. When I bought him he was a scrawny 3/4 of an inch feeder fish, that my oscar would not eat, he kept him as a friend.

The fish will be inverted with its head toward the bottom of the tank, and the tail upwards. It may be able to swim normally for a few seconds, but will then go back to the inverted position

attempt upping the temp to approximately eighty-eighty two ranges and upload some aquarium salt, the two wil help to alleviate rigidity and combat off any infections. There are some meds accessible that may help, no longer many however. The pea is somewhat the suitable ingredient, yet you may no longer make him consume :( I advise no longer feeding him the rest and shop offering th peas however, alongside with the better temp and salt. suitable of success!

generally if a fish has a swim bladder problem, they sink, not float. Maybe he just doesn't like the food you're feeding him. Try something different.
