We just got a fish bowl with a Betta in it at the pet store. The guy there wasn't very helpful. The bowl is about 1 gallon, no filter or light, just a bowl. Are there any other small fish thatt can live in there with the betta? We also have another similar bowl with a gouramie. Anthing that can live with him? Thanks.

they are trasparent similar to this fish http://www.fishpondinfo.com/rosies.jpg but completly clear.. can it be that fish? or maybe it is something different? Do baby koi's look like that completly clear? ( that picture is not my fish ) These fish range from about .7 iches to 1 inch

I am going to but a crab for my freshwater aquarium and I need to know if a Fiddler or Red Crab can live underwater all the time. A simple answer will do, though I would like somthing a bit more descriptive.

I have a ten gallon with a few guppies, mollies and a betta. I have some guppy fry in the tank also separated in a breeder net that are about 6 weeks old, they are starting to get their colors but are still small. I was wondering how big I should let them get before I let them into the tank with the rest of the fish, the betta is not particularly aggressive but I am worried he might see smaller fish as food.

I have asked before, but I need help with this issue. I have a 35gallon tank with one Oscar. I almost never change the water, I just add more to it and I rarely change the filter. I even added a rock with algae on it and the algae seems to be dying, not growing. I read that it is bad to have no algae in your tank because it means that the water isn't healthy for your fish. What do I need to change to help the algae grow in my tank...therefore, making the water healthier for my fish?

I have a five gallon aquarium with a filter and only one fish in it right now (the other one died after a few days of bringing him home). I feed my fish a pinch of food every 12 hours. For the past week or so, she has been very lethargic, just laying around at the bottom of the tank. She will still eat and swims around like crazy when I feed her, but then goes back to just chilling. When I get close to the tank and talk to her she will swim around a little. Is she dying? Or maybe lonely? Can fish get lonely? I have been meaning to get her a friend, but will that stress her out more? Help please! And don't tell me that she is a replaceable fish, just to flush her. She was a present and I spent a lot on the tank and accessories and don't want her to die.

neighbor has a fish pond a few weeks ago a small child wandered in and tried to catch some of his fish but fell in and hurt him self the parent are saying neighbor is at fault how can this be so if his gate was closed and latched i think its the parents fault for not watching his kid
