My male and female betta were in seperate containers, and she dropped her eggs sometime during the night (this is the first time I have attempted to spawn them). When will she be ready to spawn again?

You will need to feed her good with high protein (frozen brine shrimp, tubifex worms) food for about 2-3 weeks before she will make more eggs.

Don't let them see each other during this time. When her belly is full of eggs again float her in a jar in his tank so he will get excited and build his bubble nest.

Once he has a nest ready (it will be about 2-3 square inches) very carefully release her into the tank without disturbing his nest and then watch them very closely for the next hour or so.

Sometimes the male will kill the female if she is not as strong as he is (size, body bulk, health). In the wild, she would just swim away to another area, in a tank there is nowhere for her to go.

If she is compatible with the male, they will then spawn. It will take about a half hour. The male will embrace the female and fertilize the eggs as she releases them. He then catches the falling eggs and spits them up into the bubble nest. As soon as you see no more eggs from the female, remove her to another tank or he will kill her.

The male then tends the nest and takes care of the babies until they start swimming around on their own. He is a very good father. Babies must be fed VERY fine food for the first couple weeks of their lives as they are quite small.

you need to re-condition her, about 2 weeks of fatty foods like worms.
