no, it seems as there isn't enough oxygen in the tank.

but he is a labyrith fish and can take oxygen straight from the air.

also sounds like poor water quality, i would change the water.

She's ok. that's totally regular for a fish to do a majority of those issues. I had a betta as quickly as and it ended up only putting out interior an identical place, there became no different fish interior the 40% water tank. I regarded it up and that they a technique or the different only like staying it an identical place. in case you somewhat think of she's attempting to respire air (I have no experenice) open the coolest of the tank slightly (making specific she will have the flexibility to no longer leap out)

The water temperature is probably too cold.. or your betta is of advanced age (he's old). My bettas are all very active because I keep their tanks at about 80 degrees. They're tropical fish and need warm water to thrive.

Remove the fake plant unless it's silk. Plastic rips and tears their fragile fins.

Your pet fish is just resting...and Betta's have a special organ that allows them to take in air from the surface, this is because in the wild they live in low oxygenated water in Thailand.

Betta's are not very active fish. They sit for long periods without doing anything i dont think the fake plant is hurting him but if in doubt take it out they love peace lilies. be sure that you dont over feed your betta they do not need to eat every day every other day is better for them

your beta is lonley and wants a friend, another beta will be perfect for it. they are very exciting to watch play together. usually they will play and play untill one is so tired that it wont play anymore then you can get another beta and it will play with the one that isnt "tired of playing" untill one of them is tuckerd out.

no but seriously mabey its hungry or like somone else said mabey it needs more oxygen try using an air pump you can put the tube in the water and this will keep the water oxygenated.
